its actually 802lbs for 6 reps, 290ish morning weight, i know the videos already been posted but I always make a thread when I put up a video...
its a deadlift bar, its what everyone else whos pulling 800lbs is using.. its not some secret bar that only I use to gain a advantage over everyone else. tired of people mentioning a bending bar like its a bad thing
EDIT: I officially challenge anyone regardless of age, weight, suit, straps, touch and go etc... to match that lift
i dont take the strongest fingers award, and I dont care

Epicness and great progress over the last few months from what I've seen of vids posted.
but you gotta calm down bro. I know you get a lot of misc/fb/yt hate but who cares. Look at the best lifters in the world and the ones that occasionally visit this forum or any other strength forum for that matter, a VERY small percentage go around on the offensive of defensive right off the bat and the ones that do typically fail pretty hard. And out of all the subforums, I would hope that (especially since you put the straps/tng in title) this would be the last place you need to be on the defensive like that.
That being said, lose the straps and deadlift in comp *******. lol but seriously I have never had luck staying injury free doing reps, tng, or using straps with maximal weights and I think everyone here would like to see you compete.Best Meet Lifts:

Very impressive your at derek poundstones level with regards to deadlift strength for reps
Any thought of trying out strongman? With your long arms and height your actually a perfect build for it. You have great deadlift and overhead strength both of which is the most important in strongman. Also you spending too much time in the misc if you think guys here are going to try to discredit that type of lift when pro strongman can't even replicate that lift.

Well powerlifitng would be tough for him since he has knee pain and can't do heavy barbell squats and he never has trained deadlift without straps. In strongman you can use straps and you pretty much never do any type of squats and most of the events revolve around deadlift for reps and press strength. But I think he has said he just wants to be strong and look good which he has accomplished and is having fun so props to him. He is also the strongest for deadlift reps on this site which is something he has pushed for so thats a goal in itself. Noone on here can do what he did which is a big deal.

? Never go full retard...
Anyways, came in here to say, this is some amazing stuff. And I dont really know who the **** gives you hate lol considering this is goddamn near one of the best deadlift repouts I have ever seen.
I know you've said you dont have much interest in pling atm, but would you consider strongman? You would turn some heads and sponsors very quickly i'd say.If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

He gets alot of **** in the misc, youtube, and elsewhere so Im sure thats where this seemingly preemptive offensive statement is coming from, hes pavlov's dog when it comes to this. I doubt it was directed towards anyone on this subforum.
amazing lifts as always babyslayer, look how far youve come:
as far as that derek poundstone vid of 800x9 tng, was he wearing a DL suit underneath all his ****? I remember seeing mention of it somewhere (not that he tried to purposely hide it to fake the vid), just that he did have one on.
BTW babyslayer, im sure you realize this, but even though you might always be better at reps vs what you can pull for a max, if you work on that speed off the floor (again, not necessarily with max weights) and start resetting your reps you're gonna be pulling 9 plates a side for reps tng. you upper shin to lockout strength is probably enough to lockout close to 900.
again just some food for thought, I always like seeing people's actions drown out the naysayer's words (again, this is in regards to the misc/yt people, no one here), and I know you do too, so perhaps working on that off the floor speed on reset reps might spark your interest...
oh and one more thing, I know you cant really squat heavy due to your injury but have you seen someone about it? I mean, youre within pissing distance of a 500 CGBP (ass up, whatever) and you're repping 800 on deads. werent those your initial "ultimate goals?" with the exception of your squat, you pretty much just reached them. you really should do your research on seeking professional help for that injury man, NOW is the time to do it. dont be one of those guys 10-20 years from now that looks back nostalgically on their prime years and always wonders what if....
k Im done rambling. incredible lifting; keep em coming and stay healthy.Last edited by eXpiRaTioN_DaTe; 05-22-2012 at 07:01 AM.

Or he could just do a push/pull, or do a light squat.
These posters are correct, George; you should realize that you are one of the strongest 20 years olds on the planet right now. Although there are some who could, I don't think I've ever seen someone rep 800 that many times save Poundstone.
Also, Doollas is right: you are probably pushing your body way further doing tng reps with straps. A max DL single would be far less likely to injure you (IMO).
Anyway, that is an insane feat of strength. I knew you were thinking about doing this, and I thought you'd get 3-4 reps at the most.Last edited by breathinglife; 05-22-2012 at 07:45 AM.

thanks everyone, Im not trying to be disrespectful to other people who dont use straps and who do their lifts legitimately in competition etc. competition and bare handed are much harder ways of pulling and until I can do the same I cant directly compare my lift to these other guys lifts, and the fact is I cant deadlift anywhere near as much if I do it bare handed muchless after squating in a competition where Im being judged etc
it is what it is, the only reason I say id like to see someone else match that is because of the fact that a surprisingly large amount of people felt the need to tell me that I suck compared to these other guys... I mean I cant do what they do bare handed (I dont even train that way) but it doesnt mean 765 or 800 for reps is bad even if someone else is stronger
9 times out of 10 when you see someone pull 800lbs its on a deadlift bar, the successful1, chris hickson, eric lilliebridge, brent willis, they all use deadlift bars to train with.. they are the only people doing 800 (they do it bare handed tho and have done over 800)
