Hey guys, just wanted to share my progress with you all. This took me about 11 months to achieve. Keep in mind that I have only been seriously dieting for the last 6 months and was still eating too much in the first months of my fat loss journey. The picture below (see attachment) is me at about 350 pounds. Today I weighed in at 253 pounds. As you can see I have some severe gyno that will be taken care of in the next few months. I still want to lose about 35 lbs too. I only started lifting about 5 months ago and I have been making some muscle gains which aren't that visible in the picture, but I can definitely notice it. There is obviously still a layer of fat covering the muscle.
Now, here is my question: Should I go on keto diet for 1 or 2 months to lose the extra fat and then try to bulk? My goal is to gain substantial amounts of muscle, but I want to lose the extra fat I have quickly. Since I am losing fat and building muscle at the same time, I can't go on an extreme calorie deficit otherwise my muscle will go away (own experience), and if I go on an extreme diet, chances are I will lose my muscle, although it is a chance I am willing to take if I can get lean in a few months and then start lifting again.

First off congrats! That's quite an accomplishment. I say keep going lose weight and get to where you want to be before you get surgery. I had gyno myself but didn't have the lose skin, mine was also very severe too. I know the feeling of wanting to get rid of it, just keep dieting then asses the situation! Keep it up

I would just take it slow and loose the weight, this will allow you to keep all of your muscle then once you get really lean start to bulk again. In my opinion its best to just get as lean as you want and then try bulking because when you bulk you are going to add some fat as well. Good progress though 100 pounds is crazy.

Um it depends most situations if you drop to single digit it will tighten up fairly quickly yet if you were say 600lbs and did a surgery to lose weight and did only cardio to lose weight and drop 100's of lbs your going to need surgery to correct that skin problem. Its mostly a problem for people who lose several hundred lbs very quickly with no weight training to help build muscle and lose weight slowly to allow the skin to tighten back to normal.
