    Off days and set schedules

I'm trying to get built. And gain mass. So my work out routine is do not have a set schedule is that bad? Ill hit up the main groups ie chest, back, legs, arms but get more in dept and hit a specific muscle group a day and do an entirely differnt grooup the next giving that muscle group four days to recover. Also I will lift for four days and take an off day to recover. Am I not working hard enough to get the mass I want? I have noticed quite a substantial growth since doing this and feel like I am doing good. But am I holding myself back with to much rest? On my off day I always feel so guilty and have to convince myself that if I'm working to hard I will be taring to much muscle and not get the gains I want. Also my work outs usually consist of 10x 1 set warm up about 60% max weight 10x1 set increased to which I can get or just barely get on my own 8x1 6x1 4 or > then switch to a differnt lift usually doing 4 differnt work outs to hit this muscle group. My main question is am I not hitting it hard enough could I lift more days and take less off days?

This is the workout EQUIPMENT section. Your question would be better answered in the workout PROGRAM section.

Short answer: program is bad. Try a tried and true program like Starting Strength, 5x5, GST, all can be found in the Routine sticky.
