How often should you do drop sets?

I hear you should do it once a month for each muscle, otherwise it's no good for your CNS. Is this broscience?

If you want a lot more size, you can do them for every big exercise after your low rep strength sets. Eg 5 3 1 Boring But Big.

We all hear a lot of nonsense.

Just who did you hear saying this?

And if you only do something once a month, just how is is going to make you swole? Eagerly awaiting the HIT police.

Beyond novice, 5 3 1 or see above:)

Unless it is obvious to anyone who isn't blind that you lift weights, you might still benefit from a little more attention to big basic barbell exercises for enough reps:).

you could drop set every day if you wanted to (not long term tho), just not for every single exercise.2 drop sets per muscle group is sufficient I believe since its very easy to overtrain.

They are pretty useful as plateau breakers, but I don't use them frequently myself. I have found that reverse pyramid training yields a similar effect and is more sustainable throughout a hypertrophy phase.

I drop set all the time. If I feel I haven't pushed it hard enough and really want to work that muscle. Drop sets got my bench up huge. I was benching 400lbs in no time once I started using drop sets. On top of lots of calories to support the intense exercises I was putting my body through with all the drop sets. Working out till failure. Now I do heavy set then. Drop set with light weight and lift it really slowly . (Time under tension)

I typically save them for those times I hit a wall and need some way to bust through - and adding weight isn't an option yet. They allow me to do that if used sparingly. I don't do them often because of how highly adaptive the body is. No matter how crazy the technique is, do it enough and eventually you reach a point of diminishing returns. Plus it's a real pain to set up and I sometimes get dirty looks for stockpiling all the 10lb plates, haha.

    What?

    No.
    - Your mindset influences your outcome. It's time to take out phrases like "I can't" or "I don't have time" and replace them with phrases like "I will make the time" and "I will keep working at it until I find a way that works." Success starts with the right mindset and believing in yourself and your dreams.

I have never done a drop set.

Well, maybe back in high school when everything I did was terrible, but that I can remember, never done any.
