difference between 5-8 percent body fat and 10-15 percent

my question is are those who appear ripped and hard on pictures have no flab at all? im about 13 percent body fat and i look decent in pics and when i flexbut when i grab myself ifeel like i have alot of skinfold and fat. is this true about those trully ripped 8 percent body fat people but to a lesser extentor do they just have no flab at all and all hard as a rock? do they just have an illuson of rippedness in pics but some feeling of fat or are they just as shredded as they look

At 10% I can still squeeze skin folds over lower back and side abdomen and feel some fat when rolled between my fingers. But yes there's a big difference between 13-15 and 8-10.

Do you find maintaining 10% bodyfat any harder than 13-15%? as I have lost bodyfat my constant hunger has improved slightly, I hope as I approach 14-15% things will become easier. By the way thanks for all the info you post on this forum.

The more you cut,the more your maintenance drops, 10% BF is a good 100-200 less cals than 13-15%,thought that's just an estimate.

Eating maintenance is always easy, certainly more so than the deficit it takes to hit 10% in the first place.

This doesn't make any sense at all. If you maintain the same amount of Lean body mass then why would your maintenance drop?

    Actually,it does.

for the same reason morbidly obese people need crazy amounts of cals for maintenance, fat needs calories to be maintained as well.

not to mention you won't maintain the same amount of lbm unless you're on steroids.

Your maintenance is determined by your bodyweight and activity more than anything else. A jacked 6'0" 200lb person with the same activity level as a fat 6'0" 2000 lb person are going to have nearly identical maintenance calories.

you are always going to have fat until you are 0% bodyfat, or at least around 3% where its largely visceral and more necessary subcutaneous spots. at 13% you will be able to pinch fat. fat per mass is larger in volume than muscle and bone. how "hard" your body is also depends on tightness of skin and muscular tension.

I'm 5.4 percent per hydro test. I still see fat. 5 percent or less is where u will start feeling truly lean.
