Question Does Drinking alcohol the night of a workout increase the severity of DOMS? (srs)

Maybe it's a coincidence, or maybe I should stop drinking on leg day

Definitely, even only a few drinks affects my recovery pretty badly.

Probably. Alcohol tends to cause dehydration so its very likely to slow recovery

I get delayed onset muscle soreness on some leg days anyways but drinking probably will not help anything. this is a good article for you to read.
cliff notes: yes it is bad for soreness, protein synthesis, hydration, strength, cardio, and more .

This question can't be answered simply on the fact that we don't really know what DOMS is.

Yes. Your body heals itself in stage 3 and 4 sleep. Alcohol inhibits stage 3 and 4 sleep from occuring so your body can not heal itself or get proper rest. That's why you're always tired after heavy drinking.

I feel like absolute crap if I drink the night of a lifting workout. it's soreness x 9000. I noticed this a year or two ago so I stopped doing it.

If I plan on drinking a certain night then I avoid lifting and opt to run/play sports instead.
