I have got a lot of, "You look great!" "Have you lost a lot of weight?" "What did you do to look so toned?"
Went to a Primary school reunion, "You look hot!" ..."Honestly you could be your daughter!"
I think the best compliments have come from my kids.
16yr boy - "Mum do you know you're lifting heavier than me with that exercise"
One day we were having a joke and I hit him on the back - "Mum you don't know your own strength!"
He even boasted to his mates who go to the school gym that his Mum has more arm muscle definition that they do. lol
Last one was a few days back, he was on the phone to a friend and then stopped, asked me how many pushups I do and then reported back to his friend.
18yr Daughter frowns as I go out for my walk - "Mum you're not allowed to look better than me".

Been getting a lot lately, and it feels good, but I am trying not to let it go to my head. I have been "obsessed" with getting OTHERS to notice my changes as well as what I see in the mirror. It seems it takes a lot more to get other people to notice changes sometimes than what you notice.
Woman at the pool we recently met "I am pretty sure it's illegal to be as buff as you".
My wife was talking to a coworker, also a very good friend of ours, and she told her "Umm, so I had no idea "Kraken" was so ripped. He took his shirt off at the pool the other day and I Just remember thinking 'I had no idea he was so ripped'. You're a lucky woman to get to look at that every day". My wife told me this story only because she knew I was so hard on myself and it would make me feel better about all the hard work I have been putting in.One party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.

My 15 year old son: "Can you help me get my abs to show like yours by summer"
Wife: When I started logging and weighing everything I was eating insted of trying to keep track in my head. Wife said, "why are you doing that, I dont know how you could look any better than you already do" Three weeks later says "Dam, I never expected that much of a change."
Wife: I caught her taking pictures while I was working out. I asked her about it and she said, "its for the girls at work, I want them to see how fat their husbands are"
Little things I pick up from my wife and kids like that are the greatest compliment in the word to me, knowing my family is as proud of me as much as I am of them.Last edited by wsm9808; 06-02-2012 at 12:23 PM.

Oh, I forgot one. A friend of ours has a 5 year old who is in to super heroes, especially Iron Man. One day, he asked how he can get Iron Man bumps (abs), and then asked me what super hero I was, because I had super hero bumps too. lol He seems to think I should be batman.

In real life, my new wife when she said, "God, I wish you came along 50 years ago!"
In the powerbuilding world two recent ones, the two maintenance guys at the elevator an hour ago who said, "Boy I wish I could retire and vacation like this". Then after I replied, "If you were 70 years old you could". All they could say was "No Way"
Or yesterday at Gold's Gym here in Palm Beach when the new head trainer after finding out how old I was said, "You are my new idol!".Dutch

Went to my high school reunion and they had these recognition categories, specifically relevant to this post, "who is the most changed?" A handful of people were nominated, myself included, and I didn't win. I overheard people asking if Kevin (me) had come to the reunion because they hadn't seen me. Turns out unless I took the time to re-introduce myself, no one had any idea who I was and so they didn't vote. Silly I guess but it was flattering as I had lost 1/2 of my bodyweight since the last time I saw all but a couple of them. So, not being recognized was flattering.

I've had a few compliments, and have appreciated them all.
I had one just the other day, actually more of a situation. As I was cashing out at the supermarket (which I do A LOT), the guy working the checkout asked me "are you a powerlifter or off-season?". When he said "off-season" I figured he was no stranger to lifting, and told him nah, I just lift heavy and have been lifting for a long time. He then told me that he himself used to powerlift in school, but he has been away from the gym for a while. I told him it's never too late to get back into it, and that at 52 if I can do it, I'm sure anybody can. At that time, the lady standing behind me shouted out "you're 52?? You look GREAT!". And then people just started looking.....
I just smiled and said "yes, I'm 52, and some mornings I feel every day of it, but that's okay". She and I laughed, and even when I walked off I could see people just looking.
At first it was disconcerting, but all in all a head swelling moment

This is the biggest compliment I have recieved weight loss wise and happend today.
first my mom has learned that if she is going to surprize me from Sask to make sure I am planning on being home, she finally gave up on waiting last night and hoteled it with my sister for the night…but no one was more surprized than me when I showed up at track provincials (nephew who placed 2nd in Javelin)to see my mom in the stands!
She honest to God never recognized me…it was too cool, it’s been about 35lbs since I’ve seen her. She said she can’t remember me ever having such a slender face and the only thing recognizable was my smile It felt so good…and then when she asked me what my goal was I cringed when I told her, because I was sure she would say, Oh, Rendy, that is way too low, but instead you she said, “You’ll look really good Ren”I would never say this is easy, but it is doable and within your capabilities!! - Nutritional Coach - CocoonFitness

At 40 it's an age that could hurt and I was telling to someone that I was 40 and liked rollerblading and a young girl in her twenties was listening and thinking I was much younger said that if doing rollerblading would make her look like that at 40, she would do some everyday. My 40s felt less heavy that day.
This week I was walking outside on a sunny day no t-shirt and another stranger on the street told me I should put it back cause the girls would jump on me right in the street.
But the best compliments still comes from my wife, which we have been married for 17 years, almost everyday. True blessing.

LMAO My mother once told me that she was glad she didn't just put me in a bucket of cold water on the front porch after I was born! Thank God she was a 'southern' girl, and not Roman! I'm still a bit confused on this "Italian" ethnicity thing. Pasta is ok, but it's not all that!

This is a highly narsasitic thread....therefore I must join in.
Best one I got was when my then 15 year old daughter flipped out after a softball practice (I coached them) and told me I was no longer allowed to wear a tank top when she was with me because "your married and it's gross the way the moms flirt with you all practice"
I know a bit narsasitic but it kinda made me happy so now anytime I do anything with her it's either a right shirt or tank top just to piss her off. She's 16 now so anyone with a 16 year old daughter can appreciate the revenge factor in pissing her off lolExcuses are like A-holes everyone's got 1...............

"Christ sake your big" woman at a party...
My 7 year old son talking to a buddy " no seriously my dad is huge and really, really strong"
"You will scare your daughter's dates away" -lady at church
"How much bigger you gonna get?" - wife
"Your uncle is gigantic" - friend off 18 year old niece...
Best compliment.....I hadn't seen my older brother in 10 years or my nephew in quite sometime. We met up at my sister's funeral.....After her funeral, both of them started lifting, telling me I am their inspiration....to influence someone enough to change their lifestyle is the best compliment ever.400# Bulgarian bicep curl

Perfect. Actually was going for sarcasm but little hard to relate over text.
My 11 year old daughter is kinda a bit like me and dries my wife nuts when I ask how good a shirt makes me looks I get cocky bastard a lot as a responce and my 11 year old jumps in every time with "mommy it isn't cocky if it's true" needless to say ATM she is much higher on the favorite child list then the 16 year old lolExcuses are like A-holes everyone's got 1...............
