    Beginner or Intermediate?

Whats up guys? I just read through Rippetoe's beginner's workout program and I was thinking about starting on it but I don't know if I should start on a beginner's program or intermediate. I just finished my senior year of high school. I played basketball my first two years and we worked out every other day outside of basketball season so I have had plenty of experience with weights. The only thing is once I quit my junior year, I stopped lifting so I haven't actually worked out in about a year and a half. I just signed up at the gym and have been twice just doing basic stuff, bench, squats, curls just to get the feel of it again. My question to you is should I start on a basic beginner's routine like Rippetoe's program or should I find an intermediate workout to do since I do have experience? I'm very skinny so my main purpose is to just tone up and of course get stronger. What would you guys suggest?

look at it being a novice rather than a beginner. a novice can make progress from workout to workout whereas an intermediate lifter needs slightly longer, typically a week, to progress. Given that you haven't worked out in 18 months I would definitely suggest you start with a novice routine and enjoy the rapid progress you can make.
It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife ?? Thats not ironic thats just f*cking stupid ! What do you need this knife for ?? To stab the bastard who keeps leaving spoons all over your house ??
