    Ham and Cheese Sandwich Healthy?

I was just wondering if having ham and cheese sandwiches was healthy. I absolutely love them and it fills my hunger so that I don't go eat other crappy stuff like chips or cookies. I use provolone and oscar mayer sliced smoked ham on honey wheat bread.

I'm somebody who can eat the same meal for months at a time and not get tired of it. Is there anything wrong with eating this along with eggs and milk and protein shakes as most of my diet?

Trade honey wheat for just plain whole wheat, use boars head ham (oscar meyer is processed garbage), and use reduced fat cheese and you should be good.

    Ham - Source of protein.

    Cheese - Source of fat.

    Bread - Source of carbohydrates.

    ^ Well balanced meal IMO.

Ham isn't a significant source of protein, but can help you hit your fats for the day. Don't know if it's good or not, really depends on how you eat otherwise.

It lacks protein, but for a carby meal, using wholewheat bread, I don't see a problem.

Don't overdo it with the cheese so you don't go over your macros or use low fat cheese !

One food outside the context of the whole diet is irrelevant. What matters is macro/micronutrients. If you like to eat food, eat it. Whole, unprocessed foods should make the majority of your diet.

The only unhealthy foods are the ones filled with fat and sugar, but devoid of protein and nutrients - ie cake, icecream, cookies

Why are they 'unhealthy'? What quantities are you even talking about? What happens if I ate all my required nutrients for the day but am lacking fats and/or carbs?

I just explained that it's the ABSENCE of qualities that makes them unhealthy. Plus sugars are empty calories. I'm not obsessed about it though, I still eat junk food in moderation.

You said foods 'devoid of protein and nutrients', not those foods in a diet that's 'devoid of protein and nutrients'.

Anyway, why is sugar 'empty calories'? Are you saying calories from fruit are empty calories because fruit contains sugar?
