Yes, you're right & I'm learning new facts on a daily basis. There is a lot of contradicting information in the fitness industry. I use to believe that 6 meals was better for weight loss than 3...but now I know that meal frequency is irrelevant. The same goes for this current topic (simple sugars vs. complex)...Occasionally errors are made and we have others to correct them for us.

IIFYM is misunderstood? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
Below are pictures of the first and fourth month of IIFYM + IF on a recomp. I weigh the same in both pictures, added 1 1/2 - 2 inches to my biceps + 65lbs decline bench + 150lbs squat and took 2 inches off my waist.

op is a *******.
You are not a fragile ornament ready to collapse into an exhausted mass of goo simply because you squatted more than once in a 7-day week.
It'd be like preparing your entire life to bang 100 chicks in a row, getting tan, hitting the gym, making sure your hair looks right and reading the Kama Sutra, only to realize when you get there that you're gay and cannot get hard in the presence of women.

i tend to agree, just not how the OP stated it. The basis of one's diet should be nutritious foods, plain and simple. As they say Health is Wealth. The doesn't mean you can't eat a cheeseburger or pizza. those foods are actually quite nutritious when prepared the right way, with whole fresh ingredients. Not some McDonald's quarter pounder or artificial piece of garbage pizza. To each there own but minimally processed whole foods are definitely the way to go

iifym makes it alot easier for me to stick to healthy eating. when i know i can just fit something in i want i am much less likely to binge on crap because i knew i wasnt allowed it with traditional dieting. all about moderation. alot of bodybuilders have eating disorders from being so obsessed with food. just relax and eat good foods generally but dont feel bad when you have something 'dirty'

Jeezus. I've trolled the crap out of eating poptarts and hitting the RDA. Making claims that I mostly eat clean and shop at Whole Foods. I didn't know this sort of thing grabbed so much attention.
NOTE TO SELF : don't even joke about this

Ok, thanks I already eat 2 different veggies with olive oil and 1-2 fruits everyday, so I think I don't have to worry about my micros.
But can it be every single day if it's something small? I mean like eating biscuits that contains 200-300 calories everyday? For a guy who takes 2700 calories daily?

Speaking directly to the OP here..
I'm not going to attempt at bashing your post or anything like that.. but I'd like to see how your view differs with various examples.. Now, your body doesn't know that you're putting a GOODFELLAS (TM) pizza inside or a couple slices of chicken breast with brown rice.. it sees: protein, fats and carbs. So lets say I require 25g protein and 10g carbs.. I am able to get this from a half mexican chilli spiced pizza with cheese that will also provide micronutrients. How would that 25g protein and 10g carbs be any different from brown rice or chicken etc aslong as I hit my macro and micro nutrients by the end of the day?
For me, IIFYM is amazing. I went 24 months on a 'clean' diet when I first started out and let me tell you.. it was the longest 24 months of my life. Don't get me wrong.. I did get gains and got in good shape, felt healthy etc.. but I also felt a bit drained due to forcing myself to eat food I simply didn't like.. so when I learned about IIFYM I incorporated that right away.
Since I've done IIFYM I've noticed 'fast gains' - why? Because time passes by quicker. A month will feel like a week regardless of cutting or bulking. The simple change of eating what you want as opposed to eating clean has made a huge difference to my bodybuilding experience and I'm sure its had the same effect on many other people. I look forward to what I'm going to eat every night and nibble on fruit throughout the day to ensure I hit my micros.

A lot of people in this thread still think there are clean and dirty foods, healthy and unhealthy foods and that massloading micronutrients has health or performance benefits even while claiming to follow and understand IIFYM.
If you think there is a percentage of foods you are allowed to eat that is "junk food" and that the rest must come for your idea of "healthy" or "whole" foods in order to reach ideal micronutrient suffeciency either you don't understand nutritional science or you are just bad at math. There is no percentage... either your overall diet fits your macros and micros and is balanced... or it doesn't. It has nothing to do with percentages. I could literally get 70-80% of my calories from assorted pizzas with various toppings and only 20-30% of my remaiing calories from lean protein sources (whey, chicken, steak, GY etc) and some veggies and fruits and literally hit 2-3x the RDA on every single micro while hitting my macros perfectly... and have a diet that is considered healthy and balanced from a nutritional science perspective. Although pizza is a whole food so it might be a moot point. LoL

Wait, you study nutrition and you think the body only sees macros? Ok...
I'm pretty sure there is more to health, physiology and overall well being than fitting your macros. I think there is a plethora of vitamins, minerals and other processes the require things more than carbs, protein and fat, but hey, what do I know.

Strawman argument.
You clearly stopped at the word "IIFYM" and didn't read anything else in my post before replying. Or you didn't understand the meaning fo the words I used and misunderstood.
Micros is short for micronutrients (just like macros is short for macronutrients) and it means "vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients".

No, this is why I listen to my doctors and not some guy on the internet. You're going to make the worlds ****tiest dietitian.
Client: Jason, I have chrons disease and need some guidance.
Jason: Eat pizza and take your supplements and that's all that matters. There is no unhealthy food.
Lol, the fact that you have people that listen to you is just crazy.
