So I bought cinnamon yesterday, just because I like the taste of it but a lot of people say that it also can boost the metabolism.

I just started adding cinnamon to my post workout protein shakes. My reason is I read that 1 gram per day could lower blood sugar by up to 20-24%.
I was just tested and blood sugar came in at 105 which is now considered pre-diabetic. The old line was 120. I have been losing weight at about 1-2lb per week but this past week was a 2.4lb drop. I have had a whoosh week before. Doctor said weight loss is not gonna effect blood sugar so I am gonna stick with the cinnamon until my next blood test and see if I am under 100.
I am no scientist but is metabolism and blood sugar/insulin interrelated or two entirely different functions?Weighed - 281 lbs on 1/1/2012

I feel the same way about cinnamon that I do about capsaicin. It's not going to boost your metabolism but eating flavorful/spicy food helps to regulate appetite in general. If there's any metabolic benefit to cinnamon I'd wager its so infinitesimally small that it's not worthy of consideration.Lifts:
