We all know hes a BBing god but in terms of strength does anyone know how much his biggest lifts were? bench press, squat curl, leg press, lats, anything im just curious.

I dont know I heard he used to workout with 400 lbs. but anyways who cares how much people curl?

arnold said "nice bench, but horrible squat" about one of his competitors when watching him workout. i think the guy had a 400 bench and 220 squat. so now we know arnolds squat was well over 220 and was somewhere near or thought that 400 was respectable

In "Pumping iron" it showed Arnold working squats with 3 plates on each side of the bar. Now if those were 100lbs plates or 45lbs plates..i dunno.

I know he did some powerlifting so his numbers were probubly all respectable to great
I HEARD something about him curling 215 or so for 6 or 8 reps I can't recall

As far as arnold he could do like 400 8-10 times.. squat about the same.. i see pictures of him working with 405 on squat

I saw in his bb encyclopedia a picture of him benching at a beach under the chest section and the caption said something like 'i was able to bench 425 for reps due to the crowd watching me.'

In his book he mentions doing reps with 450. In Pumping Iron he is squating 600+

Sure he didn't say that about himself?? Who is ol' No Quads Arnie to judge someone elses squat? He is one of my favourite bodybuilders, but seriously - that man belongs in my gym at home, where 98% of people do nothing but chest and arms. His back wasn't outstanding, his calves were **** to start out, and his quads were never impressive.Originally posted by nosliw

dude. arnolds back was MASSIVE. his legs maybe not amazing but nothing to be ashamed of for a professional bodybuilder.

whooow, slow down there. i'm a sergio fan, but what you just said is plainly incorrect. arnolds back was huge, if you look at pics of him at a young age he had a very big back even then (before the roids). he had a 19.5" calves but yes his legs were not outstanding but wasn't bad for his size. did you ever think maybe he just didn't want big thighs that would brush and give him rashes while he walked?Originally posted by Ihateeveryone

ever think it was because he had probally the best symmetry of all time that he didn't have 40 inch quads? When Arnold was at his best he had 23 inch arms and 23 inchs calves.. lets seem your puny ass get half of that

Arnold didn't have massive legs because he didn't have to. Bodybuilding was judged quite differently back then compared to today. Given his enormous success, I'd say Arnold gave the judges what they were looking for and didn't waste time on areas the judges felt to be secondary.

Arnold says he curled 275 for reps...
