I have a heart and sympathize with the poor (who are poor because they fell on hard times, not because they made poor decisions). However, I feel the best remedy for the poor (who fell on hard times) is capitalism and employment, not government handouts funded by deficit spending and further taxation on the successful. Yes, we will have downturns in the economy. That is why it is necessary for you to live within your means and to have 6 months of living expenses in the bank.

People have a right to earn their worth and get success for themselves, people do not have a right to have everything handed to them without actually earning it.

Brb I wasted 200k on a philosophy/communications/sociology major, brb I can't get a job. Who made you go to college and get some worthless degree? If u aren't intelligent enough to get a degree in a science/medical/engineering major, than go to a trade school which would be a lot cheaper, and provide much better job opportunities than some worthless diploma u will waste thousands of dollars on.

What about the poor who made stupid decisions at a young age but are willing to work their ass off? Should they not get some help? Specifically referring to ex-cons. Someone can get in trouble, never spend a minute in jail and have it haunt them the rest of their life.
