Siyar The Killer vs Thiago Alves @ UFC 149
Siyar replaces an injured Akiyama to take on one of the most best strikers in MMA today. This fight is going to be spectacular and M still going with my prediction that Siyar will be the next reigning WW champion of the UFC.

Considering Alves isn't top ten, he better pull this out if he has any aspiration of being a champ.

Why isn't Alves top 10 iyo? He isn't that far off top 5, in my mind

Alves hasn't had a meaningful win since 2008. He has lost four of his last six fights and his two wins were absolute basement dwellers. There is no argument to be made that he is top ten in conventional rankings.. If you wanted to make an argument that he is near top five in talent you may but I think it would be difficult to do so.
Also to expand on Road2Perfection's list, I think WW Penn, Rick Story(Again), and Charlie Brenneman would beat him.

I agree, Alves is not top ten im my list.
This is my top 10:
GSP
Condit
Diaz
Ellenberger
Hendricks
Macdonald
Fitch
Shields
Kampmann
Koscheck
Thiago has a better physique/tan than almost all those guys, except for maybe GSP.

you guys are right. Alves isn't top 10 but he would never lose to Brenneman

I agree with everything you say, but let Alves fight Shields and I think that list would have to be revised with Alves in it. In fact I think Alves would be a very dangerous fight to atleast half the fighters on that list.

He has the skills of a top 10er but he hasn't had the recent wins of one.
I think Alves ends this hype train

I'm going to go out on a bit of a limb here, and pick Siyar.

recently started following Siyar on the ole FB, dude seems very legit with an outside the ring personality similar to Wanderlei (replace god with allah whenever wand taks)
Really like the guy, his story, and his fighting style....can't wait to see more from him

I've seen a few of his fights but just as many European fighters, he needs to make sure his ground game and tdd are top notch before being considered a top contender. I'm still bummed he didnt get to face Silva, that would have been a sick fight.

Alves is out. I think he could fight koscheck or macdonald.

I've been following Siyar "The Afghan Killer" Bahadsurzada for a few years. He is a big 175. I think with the right training camp he could go far. Should train with JDS or Cain.
