I've always wondered if Marijuana stuns or affects muscle growth in fashion. Currently, I smoke 1 or 2 times a week, I never spin with Tobacco, I only smoke pure green. At the same time though, I am gyming 4 - 5 times per week and I am seeing results, but I am curious if Marijuana is holding me back at all, could anyone clarify this?
Also, if Weed is okay to smoke, should I smoke through a Bong or Vaporiser?

Marijuana doesn't impair anything in the muscoskeletal system , but it does cause severe munchies , marijuana creates fatty tissue = estrogen = gyno.

smoking or drinking once a week in all honesty will not hinder your gains significantly. i dont smoke but i've noticed that when i drink, i tend to make poor choices (duh..) and so i eat rather poorly. neither smoking or drinking is beneficial but in moderation will not halt you from making progress.
so: you smoke, you get the munchies, you eat crappy food, you don't hit your macros or you go way over maintenance. so maybe a little increase in fat gain would be the only side effect.
i do NOT suggest ever lifting while impaired. some people say lifting stoned helps them but i just think it's stupid. lift with a clear head and motivated thoughts.Master total

Agreed with SamSix, i've heard alot of people say lifting high helps them, not recommended. There are healthy snacks or semi-nutritious snacks you could stock your house with so that you eat a large amount of decent food when high though, that's a win for me.
Ks, I hope you're joking, unhelpful post in my opinion.

Just to mention, I never eat unhealthy when I get the munchies, I always stick to my strict diet, so you don't need to worry about me eating fatty foods. Also, lifting while high, that has to be the stupidest idea I've ever heard.

The only thing Marijuana will do is increase your calorie intake. Thus helping in gains. It does not have any bad effects on you.

Cigarette smoke is far more toxic then Marijuana smoke, making herb the lesser of the two evils but you have to see that the -smoking- is what will hinder you, not so much the psychoactive components in Marijuana.

Lol bro... these people that are responding obviously don't smoke. and the ******* who said it's illegal for a reason is an ignorant butt munch .. really though.
dude you can smoke all day everyday and workout if you wanted...
Smoking does not mean you'll have the munchies, these people have no experience haha.
Smoking CAN cause decreased motivation in SOME people.
Go ahead and smoke all you want my friend! Stay up!
Back to KS07, you can OD by pills and die by peanut allergies, yet you CANNOT OD on marijuana and you cannot die by marijuana usage alone. So you're a ruhtard my friend.
P.S. I highly recommend a Vaporizer, you don't burn the herb, you et 90% of the THC/CNB from what's in the herb + you can get higher off of 1 bowl than you can with 5 bong bowls. And you conserve around 10 times as much herb.

Marijuana does not affect ****, I have fought and trained high and I smoke quite a lot (everyday most of the time) and I have also researched this quite a lot and if the use is regular it actually decreases estrogen, it just increases if the use is irregular.

i have found that smoking actually makes me have less appetite. while high sure i can eat a house, but if i smoke 2 days in a row and then the 3rd day i don't smoke, i won't have a big appetite at all and struggle to consume the amount of calories i need whereas usually it's no problem.

In my experience, I've found that it decreases my motivation so much that I don't even work out whenever I use it, so I just quit smoking. If you're 6'1 and 175 pounds, you're probably relatively thin, so it'd definitely help you bulk up if you use it post-workout

What I do is I dont smoke until usually around 8 or 9pm at night after I have already done everything I need to in the day. It allows me to relax and have some down time while still eating and working out how I should be. I have been seeing very good results even with smoking 4-5 times a week.

I would say that in my experience drinking has a way more negative effect on training then smoking weed does. Chronics only real negitive effect is lazyness.
If I drink I consume a lot of vodka, soda, beer, mcdonalds anything I can get my hands on and not only that the next day I don't feel like working out cuz im so damn hungover,
As for chronic I find it feels great to smoke AFTER my workout or during/right before. If I smoke early in the day there's a good chance you won't catch me lifting hours later.

Trash talk on the internet is a srs thing.
In conclusion, while both tobacco and cannabis smoke have similar properties chemically, their pharmacological activities differ greatly. Components of cannabis smoke minimize some carcinogenic pathways whereas tobacco smoke enhances some. Both types of smoke contain carcinogens and particulate matter that promotes inflammatory immune responses that may enhance the carcinogenic effects of the smoke. However, cannabis typically down-regulates immunologically-generated free radical production by promoting a Th2 immune cytokine profile. Furthermore, THC inhibits the enzyme necessary to activate some of the carcinogens found in smoke. In contrast, tobacco smoke increases the likelihood of carcinogenesis by overcoming normal cellular checkpoint protective mechanisms through the activity of respiratory epithelial cell nicotine receptors. Cannabinoids receptors have not been reported in respiratory epithelial cells (in skin they prevent cancer), and hence the DNA damage checkpoint mechanism should remain intact after prolonged cannabis exposure. Furthermore, nicotine promotes tumor angiogenesis whereas cannabis inhibits it. It is possible that as the cannabis-consuming population ages, the long-term consequences of smoking cannabis may become more similar to what is observed with tobacco. However, current knowledge does not suggest that cannabis smoke will have a carcinogenic potential comparable to that resulting from exposure to tobacco smoke..Last edited by Dawes; 05-08-2012 at 10:21 AM.
