Could be worse, man.
My squat is over 100 pounds LESS than it was 5 years ago. Have 2 compressed discs and can only do 225 now.
Bench went from 145 to 365 and now is at 340. Shoulder surgery and physical therapy.
Rows went from 145 to 335 to 135 and is now at 325. Disc issues.
Point is it isn't a straight line. Better to lift SMART and avoid injuries and crap.

Yea I have only been lifting for strength for about 6 months.
Squat - 260X5
Bench - 250X5
Deadlift - 385X5 (this one is increasing quickly still though)
It's just I see all the big ass lift numbers posted in the DYEL thread and I want the 4 pps squat, 5pps dead, and 3pps bench.
When's it my turn?
-
Do I even lift?
Started up again late december 2011 after not lifting for years.
Lifts still sh!t, reset a couple of times on different things as I keep a strict eye on form.
I plan to be building a good base for at least a year with solid form, should hopefully make some decent gains to start with, either way this is a log term thing thing (i.e training properly over the coming years as opposed to training a few months and stopping again).
You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.

I started DL'ing less than a year ago. Same for squatting properly.
Been benching since the beginning(started lifting Jan. 2010). My form is definitely tons better(still needs work, I'll be damned if I can ever get any sort of decent arch), but pressing has always been pretty natural.
Just be consistent and continue to learn. When you stop growing and learning then you might as well quit. One of the great things about these forums is you get a ton of info and while not all of it will be relevant or work for you, it is still a great tool. Take it, try it, and move forward.
Work harder, smarter, and longer - overtraining is simply a state of mind.

THE FREAK SHOW
Lifts are always ongoing.
Been doing this though seriously for the past 8+ years. Bustin ass.
I aint done either
I don't train really to win contests. Not to win friends. Not to look pretty. Not to look at some chick's ass. I train and train very hard cause it's uncomfortable. It's painful. It's demanding. I like that. Time to bleed. - Manu

Dicked around and then started following a program a year ago.
Then (roughly):
Bench - 185
Squat -265 (not parallel)
DL - 270ish? I didn't know form, didn't lock out, etc
Now:
Bench - 285 (last max.. I think im 300+ now)
Squat - 360 (last max.. 375, 380 now? Not flexible at all)
DL - 465 (last max was a couple weeks ago)
Running madcow's right now .. it's crazy to see the numbers projected in 10 more weeks

If you know me (which you can't it's the internet lol) then you know I'm not shy at all. I don't mind asking random people to check my form at the gym if they look like they know what they're doing. I tend to beat myself up about everything and I see what I'm doing wrong but have no idea how to correct it. I'd post it but ehh...I don't know. I just need to know how to keep my hips from rising too fast.
Patience, dedication, drive.

Get outta here with that! Im sure it was more than 270. If it wasn't for Erick, Jason, Joel and Phal busting my ass and telling me to add weight, I'd probably still hovering around 400 and psyching myself out.
I remember starting a "form check" thread and Erick basically laughing at me because I thought I was close to my max. He said I had plenty in the tank. I listened and told myself to load the bar up and quit being satisfied.
Anyway, thank you for the kind words it means a lot

All I do:Work Hustle Kill
Everyone is different so do not judge based on the experiences of others.
Last summer when I got the medical go ahead to train as heavy as I like I started going heavy again.
August
Bench 155x5
Squat 185x5
Standing press 115x1
August to New Year was hard cutting but still made gains
New Year:
Bench 215x1
Squat 315x1 (had no safey so before December was doign sets of 20 with 225, so one month of being able to use a rack again)
Deadlift 365x1 (4 weeks of pulling)
Barbell row 225x5
Good morning 205x5
Current, after bulking, back on cut:
Box squat (to depth as confirmed in my log videos not sure what non-box is, been training exclusively box squat since missing depth with 405) 375x3
Deadlift 545x1
Bench 295x2 (sad face)
CGBP 275x5
Barbell Row 295x5
Good morning 275x5
Standing press 190x1

I'm foreverweak.
Started actually training in June 2011. Was in a deficit until ~ New years, have gained about 10 lbs since.
Current lifts:
Squat: 5x295 (or 5 doubles at 315)
Bench: 5x135 (lol, I know. I had a shoulder injury last winter, and I have no upper body strength anyway)
Deadlift: 2x375
Clear eyes, full heart: can't lose.

Considering you are in your first year of training that squat and deadlift are quite respectable and above average. Recovering from a shoulder injury bench issues are to be expected.

Tall guy, short legs
Spent a lot of my adult life overweight & lugging heavy backpacks all over the desert & through canyons so former fatty crew checking in - I figure that counts for lower body strength.
Thanks man - means a lot. I still have a lot of issues to iron out, but the gym has been a good place for me. In 5 years I'll still be foreverweak & hitting the iron

I guess it wouldn't be fun if we were all able to hit our maxes quickly, now would it?

Slowly ramped up my strength training/training slowly got less and less retarded since, I dunno, Winter of 2010? Routine has slowly improved over time though
Current:
Bench - 265 x 5
DL - 467 x 3
Squat - 370 x 4
My progress picked up quite well after tuning my routine into something that isn't retarded.
