2 day "calories in vs calories out" experiment

I've been eating 3000 calories a day feeling good and looking lean. Yesterday i ate 5000 calories and feel bloated as $hit. Usually when I slip up i just dont worry about it because its not a big deal but im gonna see if i go back to my pre 5000 calorie day vascularity by eating 1000 calories today. Theoretically there isnt a difference between eating 5000 calories one day and 1000 the next if your maintenance is 3000. Ill update tomorrow.

Usually if i overeat vascularty returns in 3-4 days but Im gonna try and implement a weekly "calories in vs calories out" strategy to counter act this slip up. And no Im not developing an eating disorder nor do i recommend overeating/starving cycles, this is simply science.

I think he means 'science', as in trial & error.

Is 3000/day your maintenance, or are you already eating at a surplus at this point? When I overeat (usually Sat and/or Sun...), it typically takes 2-3 days to return to 'normal'. Eating that few of calories doesn't seem worth gaining a day or two. I can see how you might try it once as an experiment, but I can't see justification in repeated use, regardless of outcome.
