    gluceogenesis, need some experts

so my question is: when does gluceogenesis occur, mainly after how long of not eating. I know it will happen after intense training, starvation and low carb diets AND also fasting. But how long do you actually need to fast so that Gluconeogenesis occurs?? And is it getting sped up by what do you do in fasting, not talking about running or lifting here. Like does Gluconeogenesis occur later when u sleep than rather being up and walking around and just being awake.

would be awesome if someone has scientific articles on Gluconeogenesis, mainly how long it needs to occur

Global Control for the enzymatic processes specifically the formation of oxaloacetate by the carboxylation of pyruvate that start glucogenesis is mediated by glucagon,
so by my understanding any time blood glucose is low, gluconeogenesis will occur at some level ( the level being affected by (if fasted)glycogen levels
Please note that metabolically active muscle tissue is not the only thing that is utilised
    in the process of gluconeogenesis,
as the term simply means formation of glucose from other/new (neo) areas ie. not from a carbohydrate.
It can also be dietary glucogenic amino acids and some fats

However i am not an expert, nor do i have any nutritional qualification, what i have stated is solely from my individual knowledge from reading up on certain topics

Like most metabolic processes it's happening all the time in varying degrees. It can elevate during times of limited substrate, but also during times of more than adequate substrate, such as excess amino acids.

    The substrates are:
    amino acids
    lactate
    glycerol
