    GTECHFITNESS Stainless Steel Bar Review

    Website: http://www.gtechfitness.com
    Bar: http://www.gtechfitness.com/gp-stain...b7-ss-spb.aspx
    ********: http://www.********.com/pages/Gtech-...61784893868558

Great Bar! I sold my other two bars that were rusting and bent and bought this Stainless Steel Olympic bar from Gtech Fitness.
They have an Ivanko bar for $840, But the GP Industries bar had everything I wanted for less.
It has a tensile strength of 210,000 PSI, 28.5 mm grip, gun metal finish, meets I.P.F Specifications, center knurling, and it was only $499.

The customer service at Gtech is great. I originally placed my order online for a different GP Industries bar. I went to like them on ********, and saw a post for a NEW GP Super Power Bar with a higher tensile strength. I called them up shortly after and they put a message on my account that I wanted to change bars. 7:30 that night they E-mailed me to tell me know it was taken care of.

    I definitely recommend GTech Fitness.

Video Review and video of me using doing
    Bench Press: 225 x 3, 275 x 1, 315 x 1
    Dead Lift: 315 x 3, 405 x 1, 455 x 1
    Squat: 225 x 3, 275 x 1, 315 x 1

    That's a sexy bar !

    Nice vid, man.

I wish I was strong enough to bend bars lol

So you got rid of the mystery bar like I have? Never could figure out the brand on that thing. I still use it for squats.

That is an ugly bar, and I don't want one. The welds look terrible, the knurling looks too sharp.

    Negged.

Absolutely, the bar that you got is made for power movements and better for you. The bearing bar is a bar that definitely shouldn't be used for heavy DL's or squats.

BTW, nice find on the bar and great review, thanks .

That's a gorgeous bar and a great review. Those welds look amazing, despite what P&I says . I'm def. jelly.

Wondering if you can get this one without knurling going all way up to sleeves to save J-Hooks from excessive wear
GP Industries FAQ says you can specify that
    http://www.gpindinc.com/olympic-bars...c-bar-faq.html

"NOTE: If you want a bar to one of these specs you may see accelerated wear to painted or protective surfaces on benches or racks from contact with knurling. PLEASE specify if you DO NOT want a bar to spec."

BTW, never heard of that company.
Bars look very nice, is that stainless steel all way through or just plating.

I wouldn't be worried about the J-hooks wearing, but the knurl on the bar wearing from the J-hooks. Best thing to do is eliminate metal to metal contact and use J-hooks covered with a protective surface that can be replaced when it wears through.

I had the foresight to heat up some Keydex and shape it around Rhino hooks. After I sprayed it wi bed liner. If I could find a good rubber dip I would do it.
