    Thumbs up Drinking beer?

Is it ok to have a couple of drinks at the weekend (around 3-4pints) without effect my gains? I don't drink during the week and just wondered if it will do any damage having a few at the weekend, not binge. Does anyone else enjoy a drink but find it doesn't effect there gains?

I'm not too worried about the calories too much as I'm trying to bulk ATM not cut. Just wondered if it effects growth at all for some reason.

Not an expert, but I dont think it ll help.
    a) You get very dehydrated
    b) the next day or two you ll be less energetic and probably less motivated
    c) It wont help your bulk, because its empty calories, it ll just help you gain fat (beer belly)

But for us everyday people i guess it okay, i usually drink once a week but not when im cutting (which is now). If ur not a pro bodybuilder then i dont see why not, it prolly wont make THAT big of a difference

OP, fit it into your calories and keep your fat very low on the weekends. Get most of your calories from protein and carbs, the more protein the better though. Then fill the rest of your calories with alcoholic drinks.

I keep my macros super strict during the week, but very rough on the weekends. I drink over 1000 calories between all my drinks both on Fridays and Saturdays, but my diet is good for the sober parts of the day where I still see gains every week.

So long as if fits in your calories, you'll be fine.

People will say "your body doesn't synthesize protein when you drink", etc, but it's my belief that when you put yourself through a few hours of alcohol in your system your body will do more with the protein you eat the next day to repair/build muscle. The body is a very smart machine, and it's going to do what it has to to help you recover so long as your diet is on point otherwise.

3 - 4 beers on the weekend is 110% fine OP. It's nothing (especially since you're on a bulk). There's nothing wrong with living every once in a while. Just make sure 3 - 4 beers doesn't turn into 6 - 8 and don't eat anything while drinking; you'll be fine.
