I have read it improves physical and mental perfromance, and also reduce fatigue.
I know it is an adaptogen, could someone elaborate on the role of adaptogens such as RR?

They improve the body's response to stress. Adaptogens basically reduce the detrimental effects of adaptation, aka overtraining, things like mental fog, fatigue, cortisol levels, etc.
