Anyone developed their own protein supplement? Like Zyzz and PROTEIN OF THE GODS
Anyone here ever tried or is doing their OWN protein supplement as a "business"?
Much like how Chestbrah and Zyzz set up PROTEIN OF THE GODS
Let me know - I am interested to know more about the process

Webber19 opened a supp shop in Australia (I think thats where hes from) and you can sort of mix up your own blends. Might want to ask him, but Im pretty sure its a saturated market.

THE GUNZ SHOW
I am coming out with Manu's WGP later this year - "World's Greatest Protein".
One of the first whey/casein blends on the market. We will offer a number of flavors...just to name a few:
-Chocy Chocy Milk (first of it's kind for a double chocolate milk flavor)
-Cinnamon Bunzy
-Orange Rage
All products will be manufactured in a GMP facility and we will provide a COA for ever batch of product when requested.
We have another line as well that provides the whey/casein blend but also with a mega dose of BCAAs. This is to stop any type of catabolism, overtraining, and weird mood swings.
Thanks!
I don't train really to win contests. Not to win friends. Not to look pretty. Not to look at some chick's ass. I train and train very hard cause it's uncomfortable. It's painful. It's demanding. I like that. Time to bleed. - MG

That sounds awesome, but where's the glutamine and HMB?

Good thinking. We are actually formulating a concoction called GHMB. All-in-one. To be added in future products..lol.
OP: Have a read here. BB.com doesn't always produce the greatest articles but this one is not bad:

It's not hard to start your own supplement line and bring it to market (no FDA oversight and no FDA approval needed). Just need money and lots of good marketing.

OP: If you want a good example of business smarts applied to the supplement industry, read about Bill Phillips.

This reminds of homebrewing (beer) forums where people ask about starting their own brewery/brewpub. I don't know much about making supplements, there's a lot to get a business started in general, let alone the chemistry that I'm sure is behind mixing supplements to make a safe, consistent product.
If you're real about it, some good things to research initially are licensing and manufacturing requirements by the authorities (local, state, federal) for fees, taxes, zoning, insurance, health and safety requirements etc. Also, a business plan. Many businesses fail due to lack of strategic planning and unclear/unrealistic goals which can also be due to lack of experience.
Some good questions to ask yourself, for any business:
What's my market? What's the competition?
What will the legal structure of my business be?
How is my service/product different/unique to be a viable risk?
What's my foreseeable overhead and how can I price my product/service to be sustainable/profitable?
Am I serious enough to devote my time, money and life to make my business venture work?
Delusions of grandeur can be a dangerous thing. You have to be realistic. I'm not saying you can't do it or that you don't have the experience/drive to do it, you just gotta make sure you're willing to risk everything and put the time, effort and research to make sure you don't fail within a few years, like many unprepared entrepreneurs do.
