Benefits of Cold Exposure/Cold Treatment
People often try to wear more clothing, even going to extremes such as sweat jackets in hopes of losing more weight. Not only is this practice slightly dangerous, it also hinders performance and isn't beneficial in the long term.
What if I told you by doing the opposite you will see better results.
Exposing yourself to somewhat drastic cold temperatures now and again such as ice baths, cold showers, etc. is beneficial to your health. Next time you do cardio outdoors and it is cold, try gather up the courage to go out and run in just shorts and a T-shirt, while freezing your ass off. This can help increase thermo-genesis and stimulates the brown adipose tissue (metabolically active fat) to burn more white adipose tissue (fat), all this resulting in a raise in metabolism and energy expenditure during the exercise. It also helps to strengthen the Immune System.

I don't believe that, and would advise not to believe everything you read in a book. It is up there with eating spicy food to boost metabolism to lose weight and worst of all someone will end up injuring themselves following this advice.
Or am I feeding a troll?
