    In intermittent fasting, can you drink whey protein outside 8-hour window? reps

    reps for answers.

    I'm planning on trying intermittent fasting, I would eat from 12 noon to 8 pm, which is most convenient.
    But I work out at 6 am-730. Can I drink whey protein (almost no carbs) at 8 am and still lose weight?

    U can still lose weight. There not soo much calories in protein shakes. But it breaks the fast tho... consider it a modified intermittent fasting

    The entire point is to have near zero calories, a scoop of whey is 120-140 calories for 25-27 protein...thats basically eating two cans of tuna.

    i was taking bcaa upon waking up and drinking coffee with sugar.
    Found out i was doing it wrong .
    if you want to fast i suggest not taking anything beside green tea or plain water.do wtv the **** you want in your 8hr window.

    no op you cant. IIRC you can have maybe 5-10g amino acids (which i dont do) if you workout in the mornings or a further time from our 8-hour window, but even that's unnecessary

    Training is initiated on an empty stomach and after ingestion of 10 g BCAA or similar amino acid mixture. This "pre-workout" meal is not counted towards the feeding phase. Technically, training is not completely fasted - that would be detrimental. The pre-workout protein intake, with its stimulatory effect on protein synthesis and metabolism, is a crucial compromise to optimize results. The 8-hour feeding phase starts with the post-workout meal.
    For fasted training, BCAA or an essential amino acid mixture is highly recommended. However, if this feels like too much micromanaging or simply questionable from an economic standpoint, you could also make due with some whey protein. The importance of protein intake prior to fasted training is outlined in this and this post.
    So, how you may say, whey isn't proper option? It is ok but not the best option, best option is BCAA's. Also if you think whey can't be used as pre-workout while fasting then don't take whey post-workout because it says fasted period breaks with first meal not whey.

    To be honest, in my point of view, whey is way ok. Poor men's BCAA's

    If you take whey and you feel like you breaking fasted period than think about what will happen if you do fasted weight sessions?

    My code is simple, if you training on weights in fasted period, whey can be taken but if you train cardio on fasted state you may try it with out whey or BCAA's.. Take the advantages of both sides.

    Question supplements while fasting

    I have juat started intermittent fasting last week doing a 16hr fast with 8 hour window from what i am reading can you not take supplements apart from bccas during fast ie glutamine for recovery, hmb and fish oils and creatine can these only be in my eating window
