    Do calorie counter watches work?

I am thinking of getting one of these , however I would like to know if they worked. Looking at some older post people suggest these things like bodybugg and fitbit.. however I really do not have that kind of money .
Please excuse any spelling and/or grammatical errors. I'm dyslexic.I do my best!

Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting. Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think."

I have a fitbit and I find it overestimates calories burned, by a lot, prob around 40% too high. A lot of people complain on the fitbit forums about gaining weight when they follow it's number for maintenance. Seems like all the experienced users disregard it's burn numbers and just use it to track relative activity changes day to day.

Had a bodybugg for 7 months. Said my daily average burn was 3600 calories. Decided to eat at 3500 a day in November and December to maintain. Gained 15 pounds in 2 months and couldn't fit in my size 36 pants anymore.

    Doesn't work.

Best plan, trial and error. Pick a calorie goal and try it for at least 3 weeks. Adjust until you see desired changes.

if you're trying to track your activity level day to day, and want to save money, get a pedometer.

if you think it can accurately track calories burned, the answer is no. none of them can.

They are only useful to compare activity levels day to day...
