Wanna start MMA. What are some workouts? Wanna do some MMA fights at school for fun, and I suck atm. Eventually get better and maybe start in the big league:

What kind of workouts? I'd join a school if I were you.

No schools in my town. Power/strength/conditioning workouts. Whatever you guys would do
in a school.

No boxing, muay thai, wrestling, jitz? Lift heavy and buy a heavy bag. Squat, deadlift, overhead press and clean. You will have a hard time succeeding as an mma fighter without any formal training. Hitting a bag can be fun though.

Well, hopefully I can be the best out my friends lol. I was told not to do heavy compounds. But, endurance training and power pylos. I just finished SS, so yeah.

Who told you not to do heavy compounds? How does one "finish" starting strength?

Get a 2 plate bench, 3 plate squat, 4 plate deadlift. I was watching YouTube videos and they're all doing endurance stuff.

So you've graduated from compound lifts? What do you want with endurance training if you don't train in legitimate martial arts? Surely there is some kind of combative sports school in your area. I live in one of the smallest cities in the country and i've still found places.

Thanks, Obama!
Jumping rope and shadow boxing as fast as you can for as long as you can is a good start. If you can just overwhelm your friends before they know what's happening you will win most of the time. I'd throw some hurlers in there too to get ready in case they try to take you down and lay on you.

Here is a tip: you can find (online if you have to) punching boxes....get one. They are basically a padded square looking box that goes on a wall. Get one and start punching it. I started that when I joined Karate as a teen. The first few weeks your knuckles will be red, sore and bruised. Then they start to harden up. I wouldn't recommend fighting until you harden your knuckles. It seems like a small thing but it will have a huge impact on both how hard you hit and how much hitting you can do before your wrists/knuckles give out.
Just in case it's needed they are basically wood wrapped in what is a lightly padded leather though there are probably different kinds. You can make one at home if your handy. It isn't about speed or anything...just punch the thing. Like I said...it will suck for a few weeks but when your knuckles harden up you will be very happy you did it.

If you refer to a fighter who you've never met in real life as "my boy" as though their performance somehow reflects well on you for simply being a fan, you're a lame ass.

After awhile they hardened up and I was hitting twice as hard and doing half the damage to my own hands/wrists. I will be starting on one very soon before I start kickboxing.

Calisthenics. Stick with the basics. Pushups, crunches, jump squats, pullups. Then move on to more complex workouts.
