    Eating Right

I finally got myself on a pretty good diet plan but why do I still crave junk food and fast food. Will this ever go away?

    Thanks

I ate at In n Out 3 times last week. Its fast food but not junk food. I also ate some doritos in moderation. How good are you at moderation?
It's in the last place you will look.

I'm pretty good with moderation but would like to completely not crave it at all. The problem at this point is the guilt after eating the wrong things. I'm looking to drop to single digit BF so I know my diet needs to be strict.

What makes them wrong? The fact that you're eating too much of them?

Certain types of foods don't make you fat. Consuming more than your maintenance caloric level makes you gain weight. If you want to get into single digit BF%, you don't have to completely cut out foods, you need to eat in a caloric deficit and consume appropriate macro/micro nutrients to ensure muscle retention and health.

    Corrected.
no need to be overly strict on food selections. as long as your calorie intake and macros are in check, you can still achieve the same results as from eating 100% "strict".
IIFYM - Try to get most of your macros from whole foods. They are high in micronutrients and are needed to maintain overall health

The main reason not to crave "junk" is long term health, not BF%. I have maintained 8% BF on beer and McDonalds, but wasn't exactly the "healthiest" way to go about things. If you have self control, then use it, rather than unneccessarily depriving yourself of things only to fall off and binge, rinse, repeat.

whilst the above have explained the macro nutrient issues (which is the main issue you need to address), I can help by answering your question. Yes the less you eat heavily refined food the more the cravings go away.

Some people respond best cold turkey, other by phasing things out. Do what has previously worked best for you with other indulgences you have given up

You still crave it because that is what your used to.Those cravings do subside get creative with your diet .healthy food can be good food I allowed myself one day a week to eat out of my diet fast food or such but allways check the nutritional value of what you order.once you realize how many calories and sodium are in these foods you will want them less and less

Don't use ratios - use calculated minima in grams for fat & protein, then meet or exceed those. The remainder can be filled with carbs, fat or protein, per your individual preference.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you crave these foods because they taste good. As others have said fitting these items into your diet in moderation and meeting your goals are possible.
