I had a situation today that involved an audition for a movie (a small bit ruffian part), and I was pulled aside and was told I did well, but was also told I was "TOO BIG", and that I would be "too conspicuous".
I've read about it but have myself never encountered a "TOO BIG" situation....
Just a thought...

Sounds like you tried out for the wrong part or maybe with wrong movie all together.
It would be nice to hear though.....lol.....but not at the expense of $$$$.

Complete respect dude... but with you being 5'11" @ 270lbs, the statement of "you're too big" is a total understatement!!!

Hahaha sorry for the lame joke, it was too easy! Dude it's impressive, at least you know you're on the right track, it's better to be too big then being too small. Next time they may need a big guy! GL

To be honest I probably wouldn't give you the part either. You do look too big for a typical movie ruffian. You're more like "right hand bad guy henchman #1" who throws barrels and other heavy shyt at Van Damme before he gets his ass kicked by some overly flashy slow motion aerial spin kick.

Just a thought here, (Steve Reeves)
With all the body-worshiping publicity he garnered, he decided to travel to New York to study and pursue acting. He subsequently returned to California...and Hollywood. There were not huge opportunities for a muscleman in Tinseltown other than providing pectoral background. Steve was, however, considered for the lead role in Cecil B. DeMille's biblical costumer Samson and Delilah (1949), but refused when told by the legendary director he would have to lose some of his musculature (about 15 lbs.). The part instead went to Victor Mature. Steve did manage to snag the role of a detective in infamous director Edward D. Wood Jr.'s Jail Bait (1954). Small parts on TV also came his way, but they too were mostly posing bits or walk-ons. To the Hollywood power players, Steve was just a body. Whether he could act or not was not a concern or selling point. Fans just wanted to see him take his shirt off.
and you are a hell of a lot bigger than Reeves.

i wish i could get an audition and be told i was too big lol
Sorry to hear man. If you're serious about wanting this role (or any other possible future roles) please PM me. I can get you on my program and we'll have you down 100lbs in no time
Thanks to all! (Except for the trolls, which I actually find humorous...though they should find new writers! LOL!)
Well, I did find the comment as a compliment and SLIGHT letdown at the same time. I had actually gone to the audition at the request of a friend who is a personal trainer and one of his clients is a producer of TV and short films.
Today I received a call from the producer saying that he may have a part for me in an upcoming project. I stress the words "MAY" in that sentence as I just let the chips fall where they may.
I pretty much know that the mainstream media tends to be less receptive of an overly-developed oversized physique, so if something flies that is great, but in the meantime I'll just keep going to the gym and growing.
