Correct, and it is a great little amp. I plugged it into my laptop and it started working immediately. Not sure on future upgrades, but yeah, possibly. The Grados are extremely low impedance so they don't need much to really shine. Even with my laptop itself they sound extremely good.

I believe that the E17 is just the newer model of the E7. The E7 is the same thing...DAC and mobile headphone amp. FiiO makes good products, so I don't think it'll matter. I just didn't really have a budget and I knew the E17 was quality. My friend has a tiny E6 he uses with the same headphones you have...it works great I think.

Irritatingly yeah it is. I bought my e10 before the e17 came out and i regret it. But you wouldn't be disappointed by the e7 either. Now i have to make my mind up whether i get a portable like the pa2v2 or get the e17. But leaning towards the e17 and selling my e10

Really, it would be a pair of custom moulded in ear monitors which cost thousands. But logitech ultimate ears are good, westone make awesome in ears, and schure do as well.

I have the Sennheiser 280 Pro and the beats by Dre ear buds that come with the HTC Rezound. Both have pretty good sound. I would like to try the Klipsch ear buds.

Had way better in terms of sound quality like A40s and HD 800s (inb4 estats, rich parents FTW) but I prefer listening to music through a good sound system these days. These headphones have been epic for the gym tho solid sound quality and indestructible feel confident as fukk with these bad boys on compared to when I had beats (lol) that I was just so sketch about breaking.

These were my cans for a year or so until I lost them... Wish I tried them with a headphone amp, sounded good, but underpowered...



Now moved onto these because the AKG 44's didn't have enough clamping force..



They sound pretty damned decent with a headphone amp.

And just to give a little perspective on headphones in Australia, the AKG's cost $60 and the Senn's cost $75 Incredibly saddening to hear how cheap decent cans are in the States when googling reviews.
