Stuck and confused
Hey everyone, I posted about about fat burners a while ago and was told nutrition was key so ive been eating pretty healthy and stopped taking as many pills. skinless chicken, tuna, oatmeal, brown rice, peanuts, eggs lots of fruits and veggies as well as gallon if not more water a day. the good stuff.
anyway im not losing crap for weight or at least as far as i can tell. i feel pretty good but im really trying to shred that fat off. I never let myself go hungry, if i start to feel i am, i eat. i do burn almost every cal i take in, if not exactly what i take in. its usually around 1300-1500 cals a day i have a bmr of 2800 at the moment so shouldn't i lose at least 1 lb every 2 days since 3500 cals is 1 lb? i do tons of cardio, lots of situps as well as use my bowflex and dumbells every other day to build and cut. any advise? im 315 lbs ive lost 5 lbs in the past 2 months im so confused.

you're metabolism is shot.
you're eating too little. your body has decided to reduce its energy expenditure to live off your intake. do you feel sluggish a lot?
you need to eat maintenance for a while. then take your calories down slowly to between 1900 and 2200 ish.

i have increased my intake about 400 cals this week for that exact reason but, no i am not feeling sluggish in fact ive been feel pretty damn good its just i have not seen any loss in weight lately i am looking a bit more cut though. not bigger muscles, just more defined. idk if that has anything to do with it. could it be slow fat lost plus slow muscle gains making it seem like im at a stand still? could i be over exercising would that hurt me? should i not try to work off each meal? i sweat like a bastard and can feel my body heat up when i work out i don't think my metabolisms shot. my maintenance is like 2750. thats really hard to do when im choosing healthy foods.

what sort of cardio do you do? and how long for?
seriously. if you're not seing any results. cut your losses and give this a try.
take your calories up to maintenance for a few weeks. see how your weight fluctuates. (you may gain a little water and muscle glycogen, but nothing to wory about.) once your weight has stabilised. start slowly dropping the calories. take 200-300 off. then a further 100 each week untill you start to loose enough weight
don't loose more than 2 lbs a week. if that needs explaining, search the Internet.
don't do tons of cardio. one again, experiment without going over the top. a brisk walk for 45 mins every day.
or do that 3 days and some high intensity cardio on 2 of your non lifting days. really gets the metabolism fired up.
I have to point out that i dont belive that your maintenance is as low as you've calculated it. there a lot of contradictory advice out there. I can't say without all your stats and how you calculated it. but get that checked out

a 2750 cal maintenance is low? im using the "Harris Benedict equation" to calculate my bmr and maintenance. ive tried a few calculaters and it only fluctuates 100-200 cals i think one said 3400 once but that was one that asked how often i worked out.
i do the average. i have an elliptical with a cal counter/timer ect. i do squats, situps, jog, walk and have a heavy bag for kickboxing. as for strength i have some dumbells and a bowflex. im down 2lbs out of nowhere today im a bit shocked seeing last night was a crazy ass party i actually expected to gain from the bad food and alch. im anal about eating right and working out last is not average for me.

Incorporate more cardio! Smaller meal portions and your water intake seems spot on. You seem like you have a great start on whats ahead but if your only losing 5 pounds in 2 months something definitely needs to be changed. As far as you intaking 13-1500 calories against your bmr of 2800 you SHOULD be losing weight. I'm not sure if " your body has decided to reduce its energy expenditure to live off your intake" is accurate.. that makes sense but on a personal level I recently cut 40lbs in 4 months with perhaps the same amount of calories per day as you. Good luck

i was 400lbs 5 months ago i lost 90% of that the 1st 3 months. but i was barly geting 1100 cals a day and on 3 burners and working out 4 hours a day 7 days a week i was half dead though so ive been focusing more on nutrition because im trying to build muscle and cut as well i bought a book by tom venito or whatever and have been trying to work off of what he said cuz apparently you can do both unless its a scam and he does not actually do what he preaches.

Have you seen a doctor? You may want to rule out any thyroid issues, etc. You should be losing weight with those numbers you are giving as far as calories go.
