    Need a BIG lifestyle change

Hi my name is John and im 17 years old. I weight about 250lbs and im 5'10. I want to become 180ish by Sept. if possible. I'm really don't want to get "cut" or buff up. Just pure weight loss, but I don't want to get a lot of flabby skin. Also I don't want to stunt my growth because my doctor says im still growing. I'm probably the 500th person with problems like mine so im sorry for cluttering up the forums, but im a noob. Can anyone help me out or direct me to a workout plan? specifics would be nice like how much weight on machines reps and sets etc... THANKS IN ADVANCE

Count calories. Reduce them until you see about 2lbs drop off the scale every week

Count grams of protein. Get at least 160g a day from food and shakes (if necessary). Use fitday.com to calculate calories/protein consumed.

Do weight training. Ideally do a barbell based routine such as this:
    http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=4195843

If you really only have access to machines, just do something like this:
    - leg pressing movement
    - hamstring curling movement
    - chest press
    - vertical press
    - horizontal pull (rowing)
    - vertical pulldown

Do 2 sets of 10 of each. 3 times a week.

When you can get 2 sets of 10 with the same weight, increase the weight for next time...

Further more, the types of food you consume will determine how long you can stay on the "life style" change. To get 250lbs at age 17 requires lots of sweets - which means you are replacing all types of sweets for better options. Chips and the like must go automatically. As for white bread and processed foods, hate to say it but you will have to get rid of those too - because eating processed foods provides little satiety (the feeling of fullness) and so you will frequently keep going back to your high calorie ways. Eat plenty of small meals and go heavy on fruits and veggies. If you have the coin, buy some supplemental protein powder.
    Good luck to you sir.

You know when you eat something unhealthy and something healthy, stop using computers and go out run and play some sports.
