Will I lose muscle after surgery?
I have an inferior labral tear in my shoulder and am getting shoulder surgery in a few weeks. I will be in a sling for 3 to 8 weeks after so lifting is out of the question. I am currently cutting, so during this hiatus how should I alter my diet? If I keep protein high will I lose much muscle??

You will lose some muscle. Focus on your recovery, so you get good and healed, and then get back into training. Your gains will be quite rapid while you catch back up to where you were.

how/when did you injure you labrum? My doc said I can live with it or get surgery. He also then said some times it heals back on its own but it would be rare for it to heal back in the right position...

Twisted during bunjee jumping. Made it worse doing muscle ups on a curved bar. My doctor also said I can live with it, but I am a very active person and it bothers me a lot that I can't do certain things. Chances are my shoulder will not get any better than it currently is.

Let's say I only get about 100g of protein/ day when I weigh 155-160lb. Would this have a significant effect on my body mass? I plan to do light cardio but that's about all I can do..I feel If I followed the 1g protein/lb of bodyweight would be a waste if I'm not even lifting. Am I right about this?
