Well as a photographer I know that my pictures I take are automatically my property. You cant use them without my permission. I don't have to file copyright for each photo, its just auto.

It would be far too time consuming and waste everyones time if you had to do that.

Fellow Australian and previously a law student, that is our Australian laws.

You must have it registered, otherwise it's not copyright. Hence why copyright material has a copyright trademark symbol.


To be fair, people weren't making fun of her specifically. They weren't targeting her specifically, they were making fun of retards on a whole. So if it were me, while I'd feel unfairly stereotyped, I wouldn't take things too personally.

Plus being a meme with a child's photo, and getting insulted on it, is far better than getting a meme made of you at your current age. At least with a child's photo you can laugh along with it and be like 'lol yeah, I looked bad then, look so much better now'. But get one of you at your current age and it hits you hard.
