Basically I can't even put my leg out stretched straight, I seriously need to improve.. Any guides or tips?

If it is hamstring flexibility that you are asking about, you can try to use a door frame/column or anything stationary to support your heel while you lie flat on your back. When I was doing rehab for my knee, they made me do those for 5 mins (each leg) every day. For me it was more effective than anything with shorter duration.

check out the book stretching scientifically
you can find stuff online
basically you need to do dynamic stretches in the morning and before working out, isometric stretching at the end of a workout, and static stretching to cool down (fact check me though its been a while since i looked at it)
you can google all of the types i just listed
also try hot yoga!
