    Lost 10 lbs in a month .. muscle loss?

    I started out about 180 lbs, 18-20% BF. My first month of my cut I lost 10 lbs on the dot. When I was gaining weight, I was taking in about 3000-3200 cals and gaining about a lb a week. So I figured 2000-2200 would be my macro amount to lose a lb a week.

    During this month, I was using HEAT Stack by Genomyx. I also QUIT using creatine monohydrate so I know some water was lost. As far as strength goes, I did have to lower my 5 rep maxes down 5 lbs because I felt lethargic.

    How much muscle mass can be attributed to this? I know you are only supposed to lose about a lb a week, but my average for my first month was about 2.5

    Depends on diet, lifting routine, and genetics. Ive lost 12.0 lbs in 5 weeks, all of my lifts have gone up or stayed the same, 6 of that was probably water. Strength loss does not equal muscle loss however. You arent supposed to lose a pound a week, there is no rule that says that, lose at whatever rate you desire.
    Expect some instant strength loss if coming off a bulk and creatine, but not always. Dont worry about it, lift as hard as you cat, eat good, and let fat loss happen, dont get discouraged if you lose a rep or two on your lifts...it'll come back rapidly as soon as you eat again.
