girlfriend said she'd be quick today "for me" literally been an hour and ten minutes srs
and we're not even going anywhere, I have an exam, and thats it.
Takes me ~5 minutes to shower ~1 minute to dry myself ~1 minute to do my hair ~2 minutes to brush teeth ~1 minute to put clothes on, sometimes a little more depending if I'm getting dressed up
then I snag a watch or something, pick out some shoes (if I'm leaving at this time)
That's like 15 minutes TOPS for me to get fully ready
I mean once in a while I'll take a longer shower if I want to relax
but god damn I wouldn't be able to stay in there longer than 20 minutes

Do all females take 1.5-2.5 hours to get ready?

Does she have curly or wavy hair? That takes forever to deal with. Mine is super straight so i don't have to do anything other than brush it.
I hate wasting time that i don't have on 'getting ready'. I am way to busy to spend an hour and a half doing something that is going to be undone that night anyway. I wouldn't even wear make up to work if i could get away with it.

I lay clothes out the night before...if questionable I try them on. Shower to dressed is about 15 min if the kids are aggravating me it might end up at 25 min (part of this time is locating purse and keys, cause lord knows they get moved every night while I'm asleep....some leprechaun or something). Don't wear much make up, hair goes in pony tail, sometimes throw a hat on. If I'm getting dressed up It takes about 35-45 min cause it takes me about that long to get undergarments right... bow chick a bow bow...rofl (talkin' anniversary dinner or something). I'm a really low maint. woman though. Every other woman in my family takes 4 ever! And my 12 year old son, let's not even go there.

Do all men complain that women take so long to get ready and get annoyed they wear so much makeup... only to go out and only stare at/talk about how hot the women with caked on makeup are?
Yes, they do. All the time. They don't know the difference between a naturally pretty girl with no/light makeup and a girl who took lessons from a drag queen. I've seen guys point out 'naturally pretty' faces only to analyze- hair colouring, hair cut, blow dry, curler, liquid foundation, powder, concealer, eyeliner, fake eyelashes etc... the list goes on.
So to answer your question, yes, many younger girls will take that long because that's what it can take in order to beat the competition (they don't want to look good for men but rather look better than other women).
Those of us who are in long-term relationships/mothers... 5-15 minutes tops, yeah, except drying longer hair can take 20-30 minutes

Takes me an hour to get ready if I'm straightening hair + putting on make up. Up to two for curls.
Don't think I've ever had a man complain about it (to my face anyway), after all I'm usually do it all so I look nice for them (and a little bit of added self-confidence lol).
You should be grateful that she takes such pride in her appearance IMO.

takes my wife about an hour. Generally I don't mind it. But then, I'm almost painfully laid back...like Zen kinda laid back. The only thing I really have to watch out for is that if she sees me sitting around ready to go while she's scurrying around putting herself together. She might get mad about it and give me a litany of the 1001 useful things I could be doing while I'm waiting for her. So, usually I'll just hide in the closet until she's ready to head out.

If I don't have to wash my hair, I'm ready in 30-40 minutes. My hair is curly/wavy/frizzy and I wear it straight so if I have to wash/dry/straighten, then it's at least an hour. I might take a couple minutes more on my eye makeup if I'm going out.
If I'm really going glam and putting my extensions in, we're talking at least 90 minutes. But that's pretty rare.Danielle xoxo

Nope. I have been married almost 6 years and if we are going out somewhere nice it takes me at least an hour start to finish. I do not use marriage as an excuse to not bother. My husband doesnt care if it takes a while. He will usually just sit in the bathroom and talk to me while I get ready. it's not like it would matter if he harrassed me anyway. It doesnt speed things up and he would just end up irritated. where ever you are going will still be there when you get there so just relax.
To get ready for work takes about 1-1.5 hours.

I really despise these super general questions sometimes. It's sort of like asking, "Are all guys douchebags at least 80% of the time?" I mean, the answer is obviously "it depends", right?
I get up between 4:30 and 5 am every morning. I walk out of the door at 7. In that time, I get up, have a shake, putz around on the internet, workout, take a shower, wake up an 11 year old, get dressed, do my hair (takes less time now since I've recently hacked it all off! LOVE!), put on make-up, make sure 11 year old is actually getting around. Make my lunch, make hubby's lunch/get it together, if I didn't the night before, wake up 3 year old. Get her ready. Prod 11 year old. Get morning snack for both kids, make breakfast, husband comes home, all 4 of us head out together. Actually getting ready wise, I'd say about 20-30 minutes, depending. When my hair was longer, it was the same if I just threw it in a pony tail, 40-45 or so if I wanted to dry and style it (including showering, dressing and make-up as well). I usually hop in the shower around 6 and am dressed/styled/made-up by 6:30.

It only takes you 15 minutes to be ready, hygiene wise...but how long do you spend in the gym? I dunno if your girl works out or not, but if her appearance is a point of pride for her, she's going to take as long as she feels that she needs to in order to be her best. Whether that's for you, or whatever occasion is at hand. It may seem like forever, and for us who take a little longer, it feels that way for us too, lol, but at least she cares what she looks like
But, no, we don't all take that long. If I'm just running some errands, it won't take me as long as if hubs and I are going out together. I want to look extra nice when I'm with him out and about since I'm at home 80% of the time and just don't have the time between caring for domestic duties and our baby to get all dolled up"Do not give away to others what you have not first given away at home." unknown

Like most people have said, it depends on what I'm doing. 90% of the time I'm not really going anywhere, so it's like 10-15 mins to shower if I need to (thick, long hair takes forever to wash), 5 mins to throw on clothes, brush teeth, and pull my hair back (unless freshly showered, then it air-dries). For work and going out though, I try to allot myself at least 2 hours so that I can dry the hair, straighten or curl it, decide on makeup and do it, pick out clothes, etc. Tack on about 30-45 mins to either routine if I have to shave...that **** takes forever!
ETA: Have you told her that you like her hair better the way it is before she straightens it? Or maybe she hates the way her hair is naturally, and feels more confident with it straightened? There's no way to explain her actions without knowing her and seeing what she looks like. You say she comes out looking exactly the same except for straight hair...I will tell you right now that, at least from my experiences, natural-looking makeup takes longer than you would think. So much blending...Last edited by Madi-J; 04-23-2012 at 12:23 PM.

wimmin u r mystery.
What's the breakdown of that hour and half? (srs).
I'm not sure what my time is at but if I'm not showering in the morning I go from bed-->out the door inside of 15 minutes.
What are you doing for two hours? Ironing all your clothes? That's why I'm curious what the breakdown is... "getting ready" to me is just:
- Shower/washup (if necessary)
- Brushing teeth
- Doing hair
- Picking out something to wear
- Putting on clothes
- Makeup or makeup equivalent? (e.g., chapstick, eyedrops if necessary, contact lenses, etc.)
Maybe I just don't take as much pride in my appearance as I should lol.~ Never Having Kids So Can Save Up For a 4K TV and a PLP Computer Setup Crew ~
