I hear the Philipino is good....not sure where a place is.

I dislike japanese. Sushi is rather unoriginal now and I ate too much of it for a while.

Sushi is all anyone ever associates with Japan. Japanese cuisine is much more than sushi. Katsudon, gyudon, karaage, sukiyaki, and yakisoba are my personal favourites but that's just scraping the surface.
“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

WP are you sure you ment Turkish food? East and western turkey are very different places culturally. The more traditional Turkish ottoman cuisine, kebabs, mezze etc is considered European. Eastern Turkish more like Persian food. Which whilst nice is often a poverty food version of mederterainian food.

I've only been to the phillapines once and wasn't impressed with the food. Indonesia and Thailand were far better.

The best pad Thai I had was in Laos actually and Sydney has some thai food better than Thailand.

To whoever asked about Thailand. It's amazing. The north has arguably better cuisine and a greater focus on Spice and flavour it's also ridiculously cheap. the south May have less variety, but the fresh seafood makes up for it.

Banglok street hawkers do great value eating, but as they are often someone pushing round a cart. If you have an amazing meal you may never see the same person again

The Ottoman empire was largely in Anatolia and much of present day Turkish foods is a fusion of central Asian, Middle Eastern and Balkan cuisines.

Thus, Turkish food is rightly classed as Asian.

P.S. The extreme majority of Turkey, including large parts of Istanbul, sit on the Asian side of the Bosphorus.

That must be an old footrest, as the Ottoman Empire ceased to exist in 1923.

Intradesting, the google is strong in you . Maybe I should know better, I visited Analtolia in 2008!

Whilst maybe being ifactually naccurate, for comparison of taste and flavor I certainly consider Turkish food Mediterrain/Middle Eastern.

I've eaten plenty of portugese dishes, although if exclude Nandos (and I do) I can't recall going a portugese resturant in recent times, nor have I visited there. Although I have been to spain or spanish islands 10+ times over the years

I used to live near an area called Stoke Newington in London which has a run of Turkish restaurants which has some great places. The smell is amazing walking up that street. I also has been to restaurant 'Hasir' in Berlin which is home to Doner Kebab. Its pretty infamous there and there and despite being in a run down hipster infested quasi turkish area still gets frequented by german celebrities and politicians.

mmmmmmmmm this thread is making me hungry for kebab.
