Thanks Dru, but honestly 3 plates is more weight than I can handle with decent form. My max should be 275, I can do that with good form.
Thank you both, it looks like I have the job as long as a physical, drug test and background check go through okay and I don't see any reason that they wouldn't.

My triceps are pumped like crazy and the last set was a killer from the pump pain. I weighed 161 even this AM so I should be back to 160 in a day or two and hopefully on down from there by sunday. I want to get under 160 in a bad way right now. Today's diet wasn't great but it was still under total calories for the day. Today's foodsEric

Thanks.
Thanks Louise. I have been excited/nervous/anxious and everything in between for the past couple of weeks about the job change. I have been on my current job for 18 years, but it isn't what it used to be. The new job would allow for lots of improvements my lifestyle, but at the same time it will be a big change. Hopefully I can get started on it in a couple of weeks and it will be what I expect it to be, then maybe I can get my life back on a steady path. I like staying in a steady rythym most of the time and the job change will take some adjusting. I have been too comfortable for too long in a dead end job, and taking this risk should bring on a nice change.Eric

A major change like this after working at the same company for 18 years has got to be stressful. I am sure once you get settled into your new job things will improve, especially when you get that first pay check!

Off today. Was supposed to work shoulders yesterday, but after a 15 hour day I was wiped out last night. Barely had time to eat and feed my dog before I hit the bed. I had alot to get done today and have been going hard since early this morning. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little less eventful, I plan to spray a bedliner in my dodge tomorrow. I already have the bed prepped and sanded so it shouldn't take too long to get it done.
Yesterday's diet was low and I weighed 160 even this AM, today's diet was below total calories, but the macro's weren't great. If I don't weigh less tha 160 in the AM I am going to be ticked . Hopefully in a few weeks I can get the lifting back on track once the new job starts and my nerves get settled down a bit. I have to be in chattanooga at 8:30 am monday for a fitness test/physical and drug test for the new job, then once that is complete and passed I will be within a week or so of starting. Going to try and get some chestwork in tomorrow if all else goes well.

Wow ...... looking really juicy here Eric!
Great news about the job! It's so easy to get trapped in a rut and it takes a lot of bravery (honestly) to jump out of it, especially after 18 years
Great work on the lifting as well. I wouldn't worry about missing the 430 deads ... you are still a sh!tload stronger than most of us and you are pulling 2.75 x BW. As you drop your bodyfat to 8% you're going to see your BW drop by 4-5lbs and if you keep the relativity your dead max may drop another 12-15lbs, but that will come back easily when you start the lean bulk. I'm looking forward to you getting that 500 dead sometime this year!"Better to wear out than rust out!"

Thanks Andrew. I feel bad for the past week or so, not lifting like normal, but I will get back to it once everything else is straightened out. My strength has taken a hit lately, but I will up the calories a little soon and hopefully maintain my weight for a few months with more calories and get some strength back.

I weighed 159.6 this AM, but will likely hit 165 in the morning. Today's food
Hopefully all will go well tomorrow and I will get the green light on the new job by wednesday or so, once the drug test is back. Then I will work a week or two notice at the current job and be ready to start the new one.Eric

Good luck with the tests tomorrow. It's not a bad idea to have had a light week anyway. If they are doing blood tests, heavy lifting will affect some of your liver enzymes. I've been unable to increase my insurance because of some persistently high tests that relate to muscle turnover, even though the markers of pure liver damage are normal

Thanks Andrew. The tests all went well, only thing not complete is the drug test and it will pass for sure. I am turning in my notice tomorrow morning at the current job. And yeah, most folks here in the south are out of shape due to diets of gravy biscuits and sausage along with beans cornbread, potatoes, and fast food. One of my coworkers had a massive stroke last week at the age of 51 and I thought he was in pretty good shape. Deadlifts will be coming this afternoon.Eric

Damn good work (as usual) of late brother. Strong effort for sure. And, congrats on the new job my friend. Awares indeed about all that goes along with making such a transition, but, FWIW, in my experience, every single change I've made throughout my life in such respect has always ended up being for the better. Good job.

Good to hear about the tests. Turning in your notice is the ending of one story and the beginning of another and I am sure you will do well in your new job. Sorry to hear about your coworker, just goest to show we never know what may happen to us so we need to make every day count. Kill them deadlifts!

225x10
315x8
365x5
405x1 (video below)
435xfail (video below)
435xfail belted and strapped no video
That was all I got out of today's session. I had hoped for 405x2 and 435x1 Raw, but I just couldn't pull the 435. The Physical Therapist picked up on my bad shoulder quickly this morning and I told him that I had tweaked it a little yesterday benching and that it would be fine in a few days. He then ensued with bending my arm in a thousand different position whilst pressing into the joint. This caused some serious pain, but I continued to tell him there was zero pain with it. After I got home the pain had subsided a good bit and I thought it was okay, then I was cleaning some dog crap from my dogs lot this evening and as I flung it across is fence with the shovel the pain returned. I had decided to skip the workout, but felt better and last minute decided to jump on the deads. After failing the 435 Raw, I strapped up and belted up and gave it another go. This was a bad idea and I have done something worse to my shoulder. I plan to ice it tonight and hope for the best but the pain is pretty severe right now. I only weighed 161 this morning after yesterdays binge so at least that part is okay. Today's food
I will update the shoulder issue tomorrow once I know more about the damage done.
The video's were made with my cellphone and it fell over on the last attempt just as I went to pull it.Eric

Bad luck about the shoulder Eric .... it should settle but you'll probably just have to take it easy on the benching and OHPs for a few weeks. The 405 looked very good and you kept very tight form for that. You did well to get the 435 off the floor but there's no point in trying too hard while you're still on the cut. The other thing is that you do a load of heavy lifting before you attempted that max lift. 365 x 5 is really strong lifting and equates to a 1RM of between 411 and 434lbs depending on the calculator
http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-ex...alculator.aspx
If you really want to get that 435 again, then maybe do 315 x 5 and then singles for 365, 405 before trying the 435"Better to wear out than rust out!"

Thanks Andrew. I have an ice pack on the shoulder and the pain is decreasing pretty quickly. I believe it will be okay after a few days of resting and a few weeks of no benching or shoulder work. It gave me a good scare though and the pain was very intense after trying the last pull. I really had no plan to start with on the deads and was just winging it since I haven't lifted heavy in the past week I felt really good and kept going which was probably a bad idea already. Depending on how I feel tomorrow I may just take the rest of the week off and focus on work and getting the new job going before doing much heavy lifting. My head is all over the place right now and I don't want to risk a permanent injury.

Rest is good but I think it's important to figure out what specifically is damaged so you can rehab it specifically.

Here is a picture of where the pain is cmoore. It hurts doing any type of lateral raise motion and if I place my arm at my side with the forearm out at a 90* angle and try to move my fist outward it causes pain, inward causes zero pain. Military press motion also causes pain.
Right where the little ridge that the pen is on meets the bone is where the pain is. It feels like a hot nail being driven straight into that joint. The pain isn't anywhere near as bad today as it was last night, but I got very little sleep last night because any way I tried to lay it hurt.
Taking today off and likely the rest of the week and will re-evaluate then. Today's diet was pretty good. Today's foodEric

So mostly during external rotation? Infraspinatus jumps to mind.
What happens if:
-Hold something relatively light (10 lb) in that hand with arm straight and at your side. Does it hurt a lot after a minute?
-Side lying you do a right straight arm lateral raise starting from your left pants pocket. Does it hurt and if so at what angle relative to your body?"I'm not a Ninja, but I played one on TV." -cmoore, American Ninja Warrior (ANW 7,8)

Tried to rep for being able to maintain that pose, while holding that pen and having the picture come out decent, but, on spread.
Kidding aside, definitely will all that you have at play right now, it sounds like your plan is a good one. Of course, you might consider getting it looked at, especially if there is any issue with a possible tear to the infraspinatus/rotator cuff. Alternatively, while you take it easy with it...lower body sessions FTW.
Will keep you in my prayers brother.
