    L-tyrosine question

Is l-tyrosine the kind of thing you should only take on workout days? Also, is it something you should cycle off of occasionally?

No need to cycle and can be taken everyday.

This is one supp that I find does enhance a fat loss stack (i.e. EC or yohimbe).

As said...no need to cycle and you do want to take it everyday to keep it in your system. I personally take 1g about 30-60 minutes after my last meal before bed to help release more dopamine and serotonin.

So I guess you can't build a tolerance to it then? I'm just wondering because I've heard it has stimulating effects, and people develop tolerances to stimulants.

Tyrosine before your workout should help. I can't imagine taking it before bed like others do, as I seem to get a stimulated feeling from it.

L-tyrosine is actually converted to dopamine before adrenaline. It is a whole cascade. Quite possibly he falls asleep before the stimulatory effects.

Op, I would need to read more, but maybe go after acetyl-l-tyrosine. Apparently acetylation makes it water soluble, thus increasing the bioavailability.

I understood the conversion to dopamine.. I can actually think of times using L-Dopa before bed, and being up for hours (racing mind more than actually being stimmed in anyway).

Sill seems weird to me to take Tyrosine before bed haha. Whatever works for him though.

L-dopa is a weird one. Relaxes some, stimulates others.

Bump for more answers. I'm leaning towards everyday, but I don't want to be taking a supp that makes me crash. It was hard enough getting over my stim addiction a few years ago, and I'm not looking to have that feeling again.

L-tyrosine is naturally occurring so it isn't the same as a stimulant that is forign to the body, thus causing the body to adapt by the upregulation of adenosine receptors->need more stims->need break->get head aches due to being sensitive to adenosine.

Buy it in bulk powder form as you have to take several grams for it to do anything. 100-200 mgs here or there is useless /thingsilearnedfromwilbrink

Bumping this for any insight on NAT vs Tyrosine.

Also for those taking NAT, what are you dosing it at?

All I can find is things saying it is up to 20 times more water soluble and much better absorbed into the blood stream. in the body it is later converted to tyrosine; l-tyrosine goes on its normal cascade of dopamine and adrenaline(starting as precursor). Jarrow may have a write up on theirs, and I trust that company so maybe check their site and sources.

Jarrow is a great company, great products. I'll look into it.

I'm assuming I'm getting ~2g of Tyrosine in Focus XT everyday, so NAT supplementation may not be necessary.

Ahhhhhh, probably not then. I'd save the money for something else like agmatine, one of the carnitines, etc

You can take it without cycling it off. It is an amino acid and is very concentrated in a lot of high protein foods you most likely ingest, so becoming tolerant shouldn't be a worry.
