I recently began weight training. I also do the eliptical. My belly is getting bigger though! What is going on?!?!?!

Muscle growth in the abdomen can actually push the fat out, making you appear fatter (not to say that you are). Also, are you sure that the foods you're eating are good enough for this new lifestyle of yours? losing belly fat doesn't have to be hard. Sugar probably contributes more to people getting fat than fat does.

It's doubtful that someone who "recently" started training put on so much ab muscle that it's pushing their stomach fat out more.
A person puts on fat when their calories in are more than their calories out. Period. Neither sugar nor fats in and of themselves cause people to put on fat. Having to much of them does.https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=17995794

You could do cardio till your blue in face, but if your eating too much, its not going to matter. You have to get your calories in check, If your goal is fat loss. You have to burn more than your consume.
