so my gym just got a hammer strength lever machine that you can use to do deadlifts. Figured i would start doing these instead of the barbell version because it is easier to use good form and therefore you can push yourself farther.

so what do you think?
I think it moves the center of gravity from the front to the middel, which logically would put less emphasis on the back so i should probably do some weighted hyper extensions afterward.
Looking for opinions
BTW do you think it has some carryover to the conventional deadlift?

There is no such thing as a machine Deadlift, only a Deadlift.
That actually looks like a Hammer Shrug machine maybe.
For Deadlifts... Do Deadlifts.

In my opinion that does not even closely resemble a deadlift. Because you are already upright and at a pretty high position, it's more of a high squat with dumbells. I would stick to deadlifts with an emphasis on lower weight and trying to dial the form in if that is your problem. You will always be able to push yourself farther on the deadlift and feel a sense of accomplishment, with that machine it would be like setting a PR on Hammer strength chest press and comparing it to a normal flat barbell bench.

my commercial gym has the same machine. along with what corozco said, the un-natural groove will force your body to conture itself in a way that might increase your chance for injury. stick to the real thing breh

^ Agreed Do Deads
If its the hand placement you like then use a trap bar. Machines serve a useful purpose but I've yet to see one that has a 100 percent equivalency to the big three. This machine would be far off that mark for deads. It would however be a good machine for strongman training though or just hypertrophy.

Not going to lie I used this machine to adjust to car deadlift grip and the lean-back aspect to those lockouts. It's useless with less than 600 lbs and it's pure leveraging. As I said it's about only good for learning to lean back excessively on a neutral grip deadlift and entirely lacks function for barbell deadlifting.
