You're the C63 guy right? You'd be right, lol high performance cars like that with high-quality auto boxes don't have any power loss, and with that kind of power.. driving auto would be faster. It's not about driving an old crappy car, it's about the fact that you drive a high performance car which is built for (gasp) performance. Of course the auto box is going to be optimized for power.

However, for sub $40,000 daily-driven "normal" cars, automatics are almost always slower. This is because they are designed for fuel economy and not outright power, brb shifting right before powerband hits. If you drive a cheaper car manual is almost always best.

Not at all, you obviously know nothing about cars. I don't claim to be an expert, nor do I think driving manuals are "cooler" than automatics. But it's basic car knowledge that automatics have a power loss in comparison to manual transmissions.

i agree that clutch pedals aren't really neccessary these days but unless you can afford a really good semi auto manual is always better


high quality semi auto/ flappy paddle gearbox > Manual > average semi auto > automatic
