I also rode bike to work today. Nothing like riding on snowy, slushy, and icy crap for 11 straight miles.

Hopefully the cab has a big enough trunk for your bike to be put in it.

My wife can always come pick me up. Right now I'm learning towards that, my excuse being is that it was awfully slippery in spots and it will be harder to see at night. That and the temperature is supposed to plummet to close to zero. So I might just call it a day and try again some other time.

Thanks, Obama!
So I'll find out Tuesday how long I'm gonna be out for my knee. It's only six weeks if they clean up my torn meniscus and partially torn ACL and smooth down the bone spurs on my tibia. If they need to repair/replace my torn PCL I'm out a year.

Any ideas on which way it will go? Hopefully it's only six weeks.

Not sure. I could probably do without the PCL since I don't do any lateral cutting or anything.

The ACL is only torn about half way through. He said they'll just trim out the ragged part.

It's worked for the last 9 years. I just got annoyed with the nagging pain and random instability. I really can't complain, I just figured I'd put my medical flex spending plan to good use.

Actually LOL'd.
You can shoot anywhere you want in the national forest, so long as:
Not in or within 150 yards of a residence, building, campsite, developed recreation site or occupied area; or
Across or on a Forest Development Road or adjacent body of water; or
In any manner or place where any person or property is exposed to injury or damage as a result of such discharge.

Any idea if that's the same nationwide? The entire arrowhead of Minnesota is a national forest.

Nationally, yes. However, your state may have its own regulations and rules. If you want to, just call up the National Forest Service for your state and they'll be able to sort you out.

I need guns first. I think I have a shotgun at my dad's since he "gave" it to me.
For handguns I'd need to go to the courthouse and have a background check done, then I can go out and buy all the guns I want for a year. I think that's how it works.

Firearm purchases nationwide go through an ATF/Homeland national background online database. It only takes about 30 minutes. So unless MN has additional licenses and registration requirements for handgun purchases, you can just go to your local gun store. Call your local PD or sheriff's department and see what the statutes are for handgun purchases in your area.

That's how it is here for handguns. You need to go through the courthouse or whatnot. Then they do the check which takes a few days or so. Then you can purchase for a year.
Edit: Hmm, I Google'd it and found this, which says you can just do it at the store. Seems I've been misled.
