Eating beef/lamb instead of whey after workout?

If I eat a generous serving of beef or lamb right after a workout, instead of drinking a whey shake, will the protein absorption be as fast as whey. Whey is made from beef anyway right?

    Thanks.

Stick with the whey. Whey is a lot faster in terms of absorption than lamb or beef.

    Whey is made from cheese.

Save the lamb and beef for your meal when you get home.

Well, I KNOW for sure that whey works better. But I'm just trying to get some info on beef sorry if it seems stupid.

    No harm intended.

Try to get all the fat out, or use the leanest beef you can find. Whey is still superior, though.

Yeah man I agree. Leaner meat is better. But I still like to eat some of the fats as they taste great. Plus, is it true that a lil fat makes the protein easier to absorb?

Leave the fat out. You're not eating for the taste, but the nutrition. Fat will slow it down.

Do what I do, Both. Have a whey shake leaving the gym...steak when you get home. There is just something about a 1 1/2lb. of sirloin that just makes me smile.

Eat the meat 30-45 minutes after the shake, with low GI carbs.

well obviously eatting some sort of protein is better than nothing, thats what i do sometimes when i am down right sick of shakes. besides i know a few people who got huge without drinking a single protein shake.
