Try flying internationally from Australia to the USA (and back), and driving from Texas to Nevada, with a kid who's perfectly well behaved the whole way because my wife and I know how to raise a kid to not behave like a gremlin.

Also, supporting a family doesn't mean you abandon everything you wanna do with your life. Thinking that your life is RUINED and you'll never do anything amazing just coz you have a kid just makes you a pussy, and you probably shouldn't reproduce anyway for the good of the species.

My brothers have kids of their own and they're awesome when I hang out with them. However, I can see how parents get annoyed of their kids when they have to deal with them 24/7. I'm not having kids either period or for a while since I've seen what its done to my brothers. They never get free time and it restricts what they can do when they get free time.

Don't get me wrong, those kids are awesome and I love them but I can definitely see the downsides to it.
