Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your 225 vid was AWESOME for a couple reasons. 1. Wooooo! You lifted 225!!!! You're going to be in the 300 club before you know it. And 2. your tummy is getting so much smaller!!! Hooray!
I swear I actually smiled watching it. And again, it was great to see the camera shake as you put the weight down, which shows just how heavy that was.

It's hard to tell because I can't see the trajectory at all (as you said), but upperarms need to be more towards horizontal for sure. And I'd start by doing powercleans first, but that's because that was easier for me to learn.

it is exciting. i'm not seeing my tummy getting smaller. it's still SO big, but my husband and i have both noticed that the skin is looser and we can both tell that my ab muscles are popped out. i am going to need surgery to tighten my abs after all of my pregnancies. the fascia upper and lower is definitely stretched. it's part of a tummy tuck, which i will pay for once i have reached a reasonable weight and stabilized. so even if i dont get a flat tummy now, ill get one eventually for sure.
i am definitely going to take vids from different angles and try to get full picture, but i do want to learn power clean.
and do you mean learning power clean as opposed to clean and jerk? oh yeah, i wont learn the jerk part for a while. i've got a ways to go, for sure.
thank you very much for your help. this is the next thing i want to tackle.

Congrats geek! I knew that 2 plate deadlift was coming any day. You didn't lose form at all from what I could see which makes me think you will move up again very soon.

Any coach mike B videos will help you get the idea. Ive watched them over and over, and still havent perfected the lift. I need a coach there with me....which hasnt been easy.
I watch these too...
And I paid to be on the crossfit journals. They have a 'coach me' section where ppl post videos of their lifts, and get feed back from the members. This lets me see what coaches see.
Im obsessed.
Your DL is badassery! Thats my max lift haha, you made it look so easy!

thank you, eb. for believing in me and stuff. <3
oh hey! thank you very much. yeah powercleans are hard for me to get down. may we both sort it soon.
i think when all is said and done, my insurance might cover part, too. that's a really nice blog coverage of what it's like to go through this process. thank you for finding it.
sank you serine
now i've got two vids from you to enjoy. i appreciate it muchly. the husband is watching a japanese film called cold fish tonight (i'm half watching and posting) so we are gonna sit down tomorrow to watch the ochem guy talk about paleo. there are a couple interesting blogs out there from physicians and a biochemist supporting primal/paleo eating; would be nice to hear someone take it apart, too... with that sort of background, i mean.
thanks, b! you and hobbes are the women i admire in terms of strength, power and self concept and muscle development. total BADASS.

i'm practically beaming. thank you, hobbes
ah yes. i noticed that it seemed harder than the power clean, even though it's more "work" to do power clean. i guess just the momentum. physical laws and all. haha!
and thank you! i'm still just thrilled with it.
husband went in there COLD and deadlifted 225. couldnt stand the idea that i had outlifted him so went into to prove he could. it was a hard lift for him, but he kept form. now i have to get to 250.
i am going to start up 20 minutes or so (the time it takes for me to watch a 30 rock episode on netflix) on the elliptical daily. i hope to get it done in the morning, but i think the baby might interfere with a nice routine. which is fine. i'll just do it in the evening or during his nap.
this morning, the husband watched kiddo while i sneaked into the livingroom. it was much easier than it was last time. somehow my cv system has improved despite my not doing cardio. YAY!
i decided to include cardio to introduce more work for my body without ruining my lifting sessions by overdoing it. i am going to drop the super high volume i tried and keep to a more moderate volume and lift HEAVY. i still want to do charli's 3x10 sometimes.
i am also going to keep on with front/oh/goblet squats bc i think it works my front more and i am in desperate need of abdominal/core work. SO weak there. my good mornings could easily be 125 right out of the gate but i struggled to go 55x10 on a front squat.
would love suggestions for lifts that work the abdominals. should i just do crunches?

For me, TGU's, front squats, dips, single arm overhead presses, RKC planks, windmills, zercher GM's and squats, rollling over with knees and elbows connecting + thighs clenched. Lie on your side and let your husband help you over your sticking point to roll back on your back, also, birddogs and the progression from a birddog (hands and toes instead of hands and knees, don't remember the proper name).

thank you for all of this!! i am going to look these up and try and get some ab work in. accessory work is written as after main lifts in SS and 531 so ill do ab work after my lifts and see how it goes.
or, if i am doing front/zerchers then ill use them in my warm up weight sets for back squats.. is that safe/ok? seems like it would be.
yes please! i PMd you my email addy, right? if you dont have it, ill PM it again. thank you!
yay! youll get to see how badly i fail somedays. i log it all. it's embarrassing sometimes, but it's the only way i'm gonna learn about my eating patterns and how to lose this weight. MFP is pretty great.

i dont know! there is video of a brief set of them right after my power clean and they look ok to me. but my knees were sore this morning at the quad insertion. i chalked that up to just having a weak front= increased work for my knees to stabilize.
the only accessory work i feel like i *need* to add right now is for abs and my hamstrings. i'm still learning what my weaknesses are.

Haha, I could only imagine how bad that would've been for him if he wasn't able to do it, familycrisis.jpg. BTW tell him to stop being so Ham-headed and WARM UP FIRST! That's an injury waiting to happen. I can't believe how fast your DL has gotten up there Geek, I bet you'll smash 250 within a few months easy.
