Hey,
I've been bulking for 4 months now; gone from 19% bf to 16% and my size and strength has nearly doubled. Successful bulk
Now I'm trying to cut so abs are visible for summer. I tried keto but at the moment the diet just doesn't work for me...I'm used to eating 4+ bowls of porridge a day and loads of bread, so cutting it all just wasn't possible at the moment.
With a standard diet cut, I've planned 45/35/20 p c f.
My maintenance is 2100, so would be 1700 be acceptable or do you think it's too much of a deficit?
Currently 153lbs and 5ft 7. (stats say 5ft 8 but I measured myself wrong ages ago and haven't gotten round to changing it yet haha)
Thanks

Do you have any current pics? Not sure cutting is the right move at your stats. I understand wanting to be fit and trim for the summer ( ) but being a bag o' bones isn't the direction you want to go.
That you have to go as low as 1700 to lose fat is also another red flag. Often times people who have to go super low in cals to trim fat (beyond contest prep conditions) do not have enough muscle to warrant cutting at that point in time.

One question, OP; how do you think you're going to look at 5' 7-8" and 135 pounds?
No brain, no gain.

Don't do it OP. You are 18 and have plenty of hormones racing through your body. Sure you might back off a bit of the calories, but take advantage of your youth and eat/lift heavy. Just my 0.02...

From what I can see (pics aren't good at all), you have very little actual muscle mass, OP.
Simply based on your age (and it's attendant hormonal advantages) and your current stats, you need to build 20-30 pounds of solid muscle and then think about "cutting." Not trying to insult you; your stats state that you don't yet have anything to cut down to.
Neither did I when I started out.
If you're happy with your current condition, I'm happy for you. Keep working hard to further improve. No brain, no gain.
