Oh... And the discussion has nothing to do with "job creation" as a criteria for tax rates anyway. This is about the hypocritical rich folks who demand higher taxes, but are unwillingly to actually pay those taxes themselves... Until forced to.
In all fairness Obama earned less than 1 mil, the mark where Buffet Rule starts to kick in
In all fairness Obama earned less than 1 mil, the mark where Buffet Rule starts to kick in
Still within the limit
I already addressed that... very convenient to define a brand-new "rule" which just happens to not apply to your own income
Let's see...
Name a "rule" after one of the single-richest men on the planet
See that he has a $62 Million income
Set the threshold for his namesake rule at $1 Million (1.6% of his income)
Profit

Yes because only Obama earns little less than 1 million. He is the only person thus makes rules to protect his pay
Because he controls his tax rate. What a stupid thing to say. He files his taxes and gets informed of what he owes just like everybody else. And if he paid more than he's supposed to then the IRS will cut a check back to him. Might be months later but they don't just take extra money. And how is he a hypocrite when he is trying to pass a law to prevent this from happening?
Only hypocrites are the Republicans who pretend to care about deficits yet refuse to raise taxes on the wealthy.
How can you say "Yes!" when the exact opposite is true?
The "Buffet Rule" is proposed to kick in above $1 Million. Mr. Obama's income is less than $1 Million. Therefore, if the Buffet Rule is enacted into law, it will have no effect on the President's required tax payments - no matter how many times he lies to you in a speech. (Gee, once again the President tells you one thing, while actually doing another... )
"No household making more than $1 million each year should pay a smaller share of their income in taxes than a middle class family pays. This is the Buffett Rule—a simple principle of tax fairness that asks everyone to pay their fair share." http://www.whitehouse.gov/economy/buffett-rule
Meanwhile, it's pretty funny that you continue pretending "the rich" don't already pay far more taxes, at a higher rate, than every other income group in the country. So much for claims of desiring fairness, when you really just want those who pay the most... to pay even more.
Mr. Buffet has two options to prove he's sincere in his tax-rate guilt:
- Increase his secretary's pay to compensate
- Voluntarily send a check to the US Treasury for the amount he believes he should be paying in taxes
The hypocrite has done neither.
Mr. Obama can't use the first option in government, so he's only left with the second option. Will he?

We tax Income in this country, not "income growth". How about posting total percent of all income vs. total percent of income taxes paid? (You probably won't like those results...)

You can't blame people for not acting on their wish unless they know everybody else will, otherwise they are suffering a loss without making any change. For example, let's say Iranian sponsored terrorists decide to suicide-bomb a US city. Obviously you would be outraged and want war, but if nobody else wanted war, would you really grab your M16 and charge Iranian beaches on your own?
Back on original topic - Do you really think that Obama's relatively low effective tax rate has nothing to do with him donating 22% of his income to charity in 2011? Last I checked, charity is deductible. And the author of the article fails to take into consideration any potential deductions Obama's secretary may have.

$245,000 worth of deductible contributions.
This is where we attack the rich guy for using loopholes to get out of paying his "fair share" of taxes... right?

Income growth gets to be included in the income, and becomes income, buddy
If income growth was to be taxed separately each year, and traced backwards year by year, 1 percenters would be paying 80-90%. And its fair as it can get.
A government that only spends money it actually has.
An administration that doesn't trot out the tired old cliches of greed, envy, and class warfare, by pretending those who already pay far more than everyone else somehow aren't paying enough... while nearly half the country pays nothing at all.
Hey, how about Mr. Obama actually implements one of his many campaign statements that never actually made it into policy: "Everybody is going to have to give. Everybody is going to have to have some skin in the game."
Disclaimer for those who can't keep up: The specific and sole topic is Federal Income Taxes

Oh lawd its this guy again, trolling one thread at a time, anywhere from religion, to politics to ethnicity, to Zimmerman.
Do you even lift?
and how did you find out about this site?
How do you have all this time to troll every thread I have ever browsed? Mind=blown.

There are loopholes and loopholes. Personally, I think charity should be deductible, but being able to classify your income as "capital gains", just because you work in a financial institution is an unjust loophole.

just because its been repeated many times it is "tired and old"
and presumably just because its "tired and old" it must be wrong
ok
constitution is also "tired and old". man, that stuff's been brought up for ages now

Why is it unjust? Capital gains actually stimulate the economy by providing capital to hungry capital markets. Companies use money from investors to expand, enhance themselves and HIRE.
Are you suggesting we discourage investment?
Are you aware that when we discourage investment, we increase personal spending?
Would you rather Mitt Romney buys a fleet of yachts than invests in many growing companies?

What a surprise a bald asian to loves obama and seeing the US fail thinks the US Constitution is "tired and old" and needs to be thrown out and US be ran by a Dictator.
You have a lot of balls to just throw out something millions and millions of our (not you) fore-fathers have fought for to be thrown out by some ignorant wannabe Dictator.
