    No mental strength left

Just looking for opinions if I am doing anything wrong. I have found it extremely difficult to maintain my diet lately.

    Typical day:
    around 2300 cals
    180-200g protein
    100g fat
    150ish grams of carbs

    6'3" 200lbs, down from 230lbs

    student,
gym between 5-7 days a week,
cheat meals to be more social and on holidays.

Cutting down you have no reason to be in the gym more than 3 days a week lifting. It's a bad idea to go crazy with the cardio while on a deficit. Rather control your calories in > calories out through moderate cardio and balanced nutrition. You mention cheat meals, but what would a typical days eating look like for you sticking to your diet?

to each their own, but I've never made much progress in the fat loss department when my fat intake was consistently over 70g a day.

So, you're saying that if you're in a deficit, but your fat intake was above 70g consistently, you didn't lose as much weight? How would that be possible?

Identify the specific issue and address it.

Eating too much late at night? Run with it, eat less during the day and feed in the evenings.

Sugar cravings making you weak? Go cold turkey for a week, watch them disappear.

Too much booze? Stop hanging out with people who drink.

    Etc...

Perhaps lesser gym time? Not sure if you include cardio in your ''gym'' days.

Time to re-think about your goals and rebuild your motivation .
