Is it safe to say that most people that can bench 315 aren't natty?

^ any natties out there that can do it for a single? and how many years of training did it take you to get there

315 can be done by most with proper training/programming and time.

I don't know anyone lean and natty that can do it. Plenty can do it though. All the fatties at the gym lift a lot of weight. I can do 275 but I really don't care how much I can lift, just how much I look like I can lift.

I can 315x1 on flat, but I almost always DB bench now. I can probably do it incline even, I can do 225x13 incline and already have the CNS adaptation for 315 from the flat.

And I'm still natty, at least for the next two months I will be. Like the guy above me said though, it's different if you aren't super lean. I'm 218 and mid teens BF%.

Been lifting seriously for almost 2 years now, I have that former fat kid strength from being 303lbs.

315 took like 2 years. i've been lifting again for ~6 months again and i'm hitting 315 for singles and 275 for reps already. I hit 225 for 14 or 15 i think too.

I think most people who are willing to put in the time can get it. my bench is pitiful compared to my squat and dead though. even my push press is nearing it.
"on the bech press i usually start off with 205 doing it 5 times then once i ad my usual extra 5 pounds on i can barely do it twice. How can i increase my chest cardio? so i can rep heavy weight easier" -dc1992hp

come by and check out my log. I'm racing to a 275x5 bench and 185x3 strict press with comps.

My buddy is like 5'7 165 and has put up 380 before. His dead/squat are terrible but still. He's natty.

I know a few other people that can get that up naturally.

While rare, they are definitely out there. I'd say that's a bad way to judge if someone is natty or not. Strength varies on the individual (obviously). I know some guys out there that are just naturally insanely strong.

Very achieveable through natty - I'm 1 example. I know a few others also.

Its also achieveable to hit a 2:1 body:bench weight ratio through natty. - I'm 1 example. I know of a couple other members on here that can do that as well.

Wish I had proof...but last year I was lifting a few days before my college's yearly bench press competition and got 305 1RM, weighing 155 at 5'9. Had been lifting seriously for about 4 years at that time. Got 295 at the competition and the winner in my weight class got 315. oh well, was still fun

i would say yes, it is safe to say. but it is defnitely possible to bench 315 natty especially if you actually train for strength and not just a bb'er 5 day split

you don't need to dreamer bulk to gain strength. many people, myself included, can gain strength while maintaining or recomping. being strong, mostly comes down to knowing how to work your specific leverages in your favor and neural adaption.

This right here. My best friend hit 335 at 176 in high school. He is 5'7-5'8. He has really short arms, so he crushes bench. He can still throw up 300lbs and he hasn't trained in years. He is 26 now.

Mechanics are what kill my bench. I am 5'10" with the wingspan of someone 6'3". BRB, barely handling 275. (Could train for power and get a lot higher...)

I would say its def within natty potential. I got to 275 when I was training for strength for about 4mo. If I kept at it longer id def would have been able to hit 315.

i benched 300 about 5 months ago. don't really think it's that incredible and 315 is certainly achievable natty.

I can do it for 3 sets of 10-12. I'm natty and just rely on good diet and upping my strength over 6 years of lifting.

It really varies how long it would take - If you're a small guy and its taken you a close to a year to get to 220lbs. Id say 1.5 - 2 yrs to get to 315lbs - from once you hit 220lbs

Most people I see at my university gym who bench 315 aren't natty. That being said, most dont have very much experience training. I see myself hitting 315 before I turn 21 next march, at a max of 275 right now at 173bw. Natty as phuck cuzzzzzz

not necessarily, you just need to learn to program for strength and lift smarter.

this is a dumb excuse too. I have pectus excavatum and a wingspan of 71-72 at 5'11" and I have no problem pressing 275 for reps or pushpressing 250+ at under 200 pounds. work harder and smarter and change up form a bit, you'll get there eventually.
